I recently visited this ski shop to purchase Pomoca brand skins for my women’s Blizzard skis, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The staff was unfriendly, to say the least. When investing in high-end ski gear, you expect the staff to be knowledgeable, take pride in their work, and carefully handle tasks like trimming skins and fitting boots.
Due to the width of my skis, I had to choose a slightly wider skin since the next size down was too narrow. This is standard practice, as the shop should then trim the skin to fit. The trimming itself took less than five minutes, which would have been fine—until I placed the skins on my skis and saw that the cut was sloppy and careless, leaving parts of the ski base exposed. Proper coverage is essential for performance, so I asked the staff about the poor cut. Their response? “You don’t have to get them.” No accountability for the mistake.
Another employee then asked if I was going to purchase them. I explained that this is a reputable skin brand, at the highest price point, and I was disappointed with the quality of the trimming. Instead of offering a solution, they responded with: “Well, maybe you should go elsewhere and get a different brand. We all backcountry ski, and this is how it is.”
The lack of care and poor customer service were unacceptable—I won’t...
Read moreTerrible snowboard tune and wax. Highly recommend going anywhere else. First, I brought in my board and my fiances skis. We’ve been out west so they didn’t need a lot done, just fresh tune up. The girl WROTE DOWN one price then tried to charge me another. When I asked her about it, she just went “oops it’s the higher price”. I should have taken my stuff and walked, but I gave her grace and paid. But then, when I picked up my stuff my board was all messed up. My bindings looked like they were moved and there is some buildup/residue all over the top of it. When I inquired, they said they never move bindings. Then after insisting my board didn’t look right, she went in back and said they did take off my binding but they put them right back on the same spot. Which I can assure you they did not, as I ride in a sort of “duck stance” and had to redo them when I got home and still haven’t gotten back completely right, the residue is still there and I can’t seem to remove it. I’ve been skiing and riding for over 25 years and this is the worst time/wax and customer service I’ve ever had....
Read moreA small, private business that does it right. Incredibly helpful, professional, friendly and knowledgeable staff. This is a great place for those just getting into skiing. I know from personal experience, but also observing the interactions with other customers whenever I am there. They'll make you feel completely comfortable, and they always match the level of information and education to the needs and experience of the customer, in a suggestive, unhurried and helpful way. From our first ski purchases, to rentals over the years for our boys, equipment upgrades, repairs - whatever - I always look forward to stopping by. Diana is always warm, gracious and greets you with a smile (even when they are slamming busy). You'll walk in and feel like you've known her for years. A shout out to Bert, as well. He's helped us with a couple of ski and boot purchases this year, and is a well of knowledge. But truly, every staff member we have dealt with over the years brings the same friendly, knowledgeable assistance to every experience. I never leave without learning something new. Highly...
