It really upsets me that I am leaving this review. I loved the gym, people, and the trainers who helped me!!! Everything was going great when I first started, then I had medical issues that required me to pause my membership. The rude responses i received both in email and over the phone was eye opening. Rather than showing concern for my medical needs, gym owner and trainer Dave shamed me and questioned my commitment to my fitness journey. Make no mistake it is my body, my choice. My decisions of how I need to handle my body are between me and my doctor. If you are considering starting your fitness journey, I recommend anywhere else. Not only is it more expensive than anywhere else. They will not give you the support you need.
*UPDATE: Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. I appreciate the effort you and your team (as I initially stated) put into accommodating my needs during my time at the gym. However, my review was based on my personal experience and feelings during our LAST interaction, particularly regarding how communication unfolded around my cancellation. I did pause in the past and they were due to a surgery or injury.
However, I want to clarify that during our phone conversation, you asked, "Do you just want to sit on your couch?". It was comments like this that contributed to my decision to share my experience publicly, as I felt they were dismissive of my situation.
Since you are the owner and people will interact with you, I felt it was important to leave the review. While the staff can be amazing, if one piece is missing, the gym as a whole wonāt function at its best. This is why I believe itās crucial for all aspects of the experience to align, including the communication from leadership.
Moving forward, I hope you can learn from this experience and be mindful of how your words might affect others. I believe that no one should be spoken to in that manner, especially when dealing with personal health challenges.
in full transparency, the email trail is attached as well as a text message after I left the review.
Thanks and have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis month I made a year at CrossFit 845. The reason I wait so long is because being this gym isnāt just show up and do your own work out itās coach to client interaction. I wanted to see if once you have a history here do they keep the same energy in dealing with you or do just just become a regular and itās just a regular day. I have to say that a year later any coach I have dealt with including the owner Dave are always keeping tabs. They know when you donāt show up and they will end up checking to see if everything is ok.
It started with my choosing the 12 week transformation program. Which was a success. My goal was weight loss and I was partnered with Christine Stas who is trained in nutrition also. From day one the vibes clicked and we got to work. She laid out the plan we got to work. She was very open if I wanted to change something and always made sure I wasnāt getting bored with the routine. She gave me her information to keep in contact and told me if I was struggling with my diet and needed help to contact her. By the end of the 12 weeks the results were amazing. It was up there as one of the best they have seen.
When you finish the 12 weeks it leaves you wanting more. You want more results and the community thatās built in this gym doesnāt allow you to leave. Thereās no egos at this gym. Other members will see you about to improve on a work out or new heavy lift and they will start cheering you on. Thereās always seminars going on and some type of event. Also please for the the ladies do NOT be intimidated! Think I can say that a good portion of the gym is women. Some of the ones that inspire me are women. They get busy! They are lifting, they are doing these high intense workout and putting in that work. At least meet the coaches and have them show you around Iām sure you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFriday was a different experience. I attended the 4PM CrossFit program.
Usually there are a bunch of us but I found out this was going to be a solo event with the guidance of superstar coach James Cook!
The āteam workoutā approach had to be altered. James had a plan! Listen, the work I accomplished was not easy but when completed it felt awesome (Yes, after I caught my breath and my heart rate got back to normal š)!
James just didnāt tell me, āDo this and Iāll check back later.ā Nope he stayed near the working area and provided encouragement (and some great music too) along the way even though he knew I was torched. It kept me motivated & it kept me working until the final bell.
CrossFit 845 is a special place to be! The coaching staff as a whole are just incredible people who are knowledgeable and are willing to help each of us succeed. And the people who come here to workout are focused and make this a phenomenal environment!
Starting CrossFit 845 I walked in the door 3 months ago as a newbie to this arena hoping I wouldnāt hurt myself. But I was more scared that if I didnāt take action my health would go in the wrong direction. Yes the hardest part was starting.
I just celebrated my 54 birthday last weekend (yes I was in the gym on my birthday). Over the past 3 months I had gained more mobility, strength and have lost 21 lbs. But like Coach James usually posts, thereās āMore...
