I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent repair service I received for my snowblower. After dropping it off for an initial repair, I was informed it was ready for pickup. The repair was quite costly but I felt comfortable because they are supposed experts. However, upon attempting to use it, I discovered the blades did not turn. I contacted American Equipment and arranged for pickup, which I was assured would be at no charge. Subsequently, I was informed that a belt needed to be replaced and was charged for the part and labor. Despite this repair, the snowblower still did not function properly when I attempted to use it again. A neighbor with engineering expertise assisted me in examining the snowblower and discovered that none of the pulleys had been tightened and the belt was barely hanging on. This leads me to believe that the initial belt replacement was unnecessary and that the issue was simply a matter of improper assembly. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of quality assurance and the fact that I was charged for repairs that did not resolve the issue. If you review the photos below you will find that the pully nuts are not even finger tight on a supposed new belt and repair. Living in the same town I thought it would be a easy opportunity to find a new vendor I guess that I was wrong. I can not refer or suggest using American Equipment for repairs moving forward.

I had a fairly costly repair on my Ferris, (needed a new right side pump and coil conversion) Matt was great in helping keep the cost down a much as possible. When I got the machine home I mowed for about 5 min and it died. I called Matt and he sent someone to pick it up and take a look, ended up being a simple fix (not their fault) as well as they made some tweaks to the hydro system but he didn't charge me! Great service, knowledgeable and friendly. My first time using American Equipment, very satisfied, although, I did tell Matt I hope this is the last time I see him for a while...

Very poor experience with service team. I bought a new IS500 from them last season. The idle started stumbling a bit and seemed to lack in power by the end of the season. The light bar on the front may have never worked. I called them to do warranty service on the light bar and whatever was going on with the idle issue. They picked up on a Wednesday. I called Friday and asked when I can expect an answer on lead time. They said we will give you a call Monday and let you know what is going on. No call Monday so I called Tuesday to ask for some type of repair time frame. "Ill call you back a little later and let you know" No call so I call again Thursday (1 week after pickup) Talked to a different person and they mentioned they haven't gotten to it yet and they will call me and let me know as soon as they do. They finally call me today almost 2 weeks after pickup to tell me that the carb is heavily corroded from ethanol gas and will not be covered under warranty. I ONLY USE NO-E 91 Octane that I have gotten from the same gas station for 20 years. and corroded in 1 season??? They tried to charge me $520 for a new carb. Instead they charged me $290. $65 for pickup and delivery and the rest was in labor sharpening my blades, spark plugs, air filter and time cleaning my original carb. I did not tell them to do the plugs and filter or clean my carb. These people are out for your money. Stay away. I had them deliver it to a different Ferris Dealer to do the work under warranty as they thought it was...

I spent over $500 for parts and labor. I know that isn't much for the other work and parts that go through this place. But that is the point, I was treated like I was their best customer. I had gone to and called many other Ferris dealers in the area. The problem was I have a 20 yr. old mower and I was told that I didn't have the right number, that there was no such number for Ferris lawn mowers that I was looking for. Or if I got past the model number problem it was either they don't make parts for it anymore or this is the part because this is what the computer says it is. The gentlemen at American Equipment, Dave Bell, Matt Carrel (service dept.) Steve Wolfe (parts) Scott Heubusch (Salesman, He also has connections at Ferris that's how I got the part I needed) and Richie Mondore (Tech). They were bound and determined to get what I needed. It took a few days but they got the part number I needed found the part I needed and installed it. They also found a few problems that I sort of knew I had, told me about them and after my O.K. fixed them. I couldn't have asked for more or got better service anywhere. I wish more places had customer service and people ready and able to help like...
