Their showers are COLD and someone in charge isn't interested in fixing the problem because I reported this to the front desk two weeks ago and nothing has changed.
I'm not talking about a shower that's "Not hot enough for my liking". These showers are below room temperature.
I travel for business so I use a lot of different Planet Fitness locations. I always take a shower after my workout so I've experienced the showers in dozens of locations. Some are better than others but these are absolutely broken.
I was here two weeks ago and I forced myself through a really fast shower. It was miserable.
I reported it to the front desk and the person there seemed concerned and said she would report it, presumably to someone higher up.
Two weeks later, nothing has changed. I forced myself through another miserable shower. And then I went to the front desk to report it.
They all seemed surprised, This has to be an act because there is no way other people have taken showers without complaining.
One employee told me I need to let the water run for a minute or two. No, no, no, no. I am not stupid. Both times I had let the water run for well over ten minutes with no improvement.
Another employee asked me which shower it was, and they suggested that I try one of the other showers next time.
Again, no, no, no. I am not stupid. First of all, plumbing doesn't work that way. If one is cold they will all be cold. Besides, in a moment of desperation, I did try the adjacent shower with the same result.
What really gets me is that the employees act as if thus is the first they've heard of the problem. I know that's not the case, because I have reported it before and there is no way other customers haven't complained.
So it seems like they have been coached to pretend that it is news to them, and just try to placate the person complaining without doing anything about it.
So what's the deal here? Has management decided to just ignore the cold showers and leave it that way?
If they have, please post a sign in the window saying "Our showers do not have hot water" so people can be aware before they go in and get sweaty and then have no recourse.
Maybe most of the people who work out here can go home to take a shower, but I travel for business and I don't have that ability. And please don't suggest that I work out and then return to my hotel to shower. That doesn't work for my schedule and I shouldn't...
Read moreThe people that work here in the early morning are not friendly, other than the elderly woman. This is a customer service job...don't know how to do customer service? This is not a job for you! I love the gym...not the people that work there. They can often be seen on their phones, sitting down biting their nails, chatting amongst themselves and can't say hello to the customers! While paper towel holders are empty, sanitizer containers, and cleaning bottles empty. Many times when I'm there...toilet paper is being sought after! The 30 minute room is not monitored as it states! Please do better...
Read moreLots of equipment. Way to hot tho. In a place where almost everyone wears earbuds or headphones, they could turn down the music quite a bit.
Update: beware of uninformed employees. A month before I had major shoulder surgery and I called to cancel my membership. I was told they could place it on hold for me, and I would not be charged. However, I was just charged my yearly membership fee. I won't be back within a year, I should have been told that my membership fee would still be charged. This is either a practice used to scam members or lack of knowledge from the employees. Either...
