After shopping for locally grown produce this morning at a number of farm stands we drove over to Hudson, NY for an early lunch at Cocina Chapina (160 Fairview Ave), a relatively new Guatemalan restaurant in the area. After living in southern California for nearly four decades, where there was an abundance of regional Mexican and Central American cuisines, we are always on the lookout for places which offer authentic flavors. Open only a month, Cocina Chapina absolutely filled the bill and will be a restaurant we will visit often. Friendly people and relaxed atmosphere. Menu is extensive, with burritos, tacos, nachos and pupusas along with Guatemalan specialties. Looking forward to going back and trying breakfast too. A great addition to Hudson and Greenport’s restaurants.
