After being a customer at Hewitt's Guilderland for 30+ years and watching the staff there become less helpful, less pleasant and seemingly less knowledgeable, I decided to travel a few minutes further down the road to Gade Farms. I will now no longer turn into the closer Hewitt's but continue on to GADE FARMS. What a fabulous nursery plus farm store! Amy and her staff are super friendly and knowledgeable . They always ask to help you bring your goods to the car and load them. You are made to feel welcome, special and appreciated there (as opposed to the other place that now takes you for granted and makes you feel like a nuisance.) I had boycotted this place due to what I consider to be rude staff.. it's been years so I decided to give it a try,,, I had already looked at the canned goods to buy some pickled garlic, it was a gray/Brown color.. I don't believe it to be fresh So, I had seen a shrub that I liked, marked $56., I went to the cashier where a young girl was working, and a male person was leaning on the counter, I said to the girl "Are your prices negotiable "? The male person growled and said LIKE WHAT.. I replied there is a shrub marked $56. Will you take $50 ?
