Where do I even start here, Iāve been going here the last few years. It use to be reasonably priced and competitive. Now nothing has prices on them š .. and you gotta take it to the clerk so he can check eBay and give you an overpriced mark up. Only place Ive dealt with this. I just want to pick a game and see a price tag and if I donāt like it just let it down and move on. Not waste my time asking and waiting for a eBay search and overpriced amount to be said. I use to love this shop, keyword use to. Nowadays though any game I pick up and take to the counter to these new lame dudes and they just look up eBay and check whatever price comes up first. I honestly donāt even think itās sold listings sometimes because I check right after them ... I see sometimes $5 , $10 , $20 , $40 or even more dollars cheaper ...... One occasion I asked for a game price and the worker there checked eBay .. and told me $35. I bought it right there and then on eBay for $25 š 10 dollars cheaper. Or another game, same thing but 20 dollars cheaper (mind you these prices include shipping as well) Iām literally asking certain games and can literally buy them much cheaper online on the spot. Do they just want me to hand them an extra $20 while they sit on their as* and check eBay ? Funny thing is some of the more current gen games like Xbox one/switch/PS4 games cost more than even GameStop prices š I once overheard an employee at their other location to price a certain n64 game for $70 only because they didnāt have any and it never comes into their store was his reasoning. A common n64 game .. that goes for 30-35 bucks or slightly less. But doubled the price than online and other retro stores around. Last time I went I kinda didnāt bother asking the employee the game price. I just walked out.I knew the dude would just check eBay. See whatever random high price there and mark it exactly. I know the pandemic affected prices, trust me. But if this storeās pricing is basically high eBay listing prices or sold high ones. Why would I bother buying it here if I can buy it much cheaper on eBay (go figure), online or even another retro shop. I know several other people who stop coming here too. I donāt know, I like the store but the higher prices than online (eBay, mercari, etc) and other retro shops plus the clueless numb brain muppets working there now. I have no reason to and wonāt be coming back to this store for a while . Maybe give this store another shot in a few months. I do like their Massapequa location more. Prices are there, can be mixed but hey at least I know and donāt have to wait for the guy to give me a high eBay price. Just for me to check it up and buy it cheaper. I wouldnāt recommend going here. Their other location in Massapequa I do and other retro gaming shops. Plus I highly highly recommend to new visitors or retro gaming fans to research your game prices. Donāt let yourself get taken advantage of and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is AMAZING. They have a huge selection of hard-to-find retro games plus a few current ones that are better priced than anything else you'll find online, and they even pay the tax for you! They can also break the game and case into separate sales to fit your collector needs (for me I already had the game and just really wanted the case). They even CLEAN the game disc(s) you want to buy if it's even a little scratched, free of charge, and test it in front of you so that you see that it works! (You can also go there just to clean a CD/DVD if you want, and only for $5 a disc~) Every product they have is a fair deal and the staff are very well-informed about their merchandise-- just ask any employee. And if they don't know off the top of their head, they will take the time to search for what you asked about. My partner and I had gotten to the store just around 5:00PM near closing time, and this guy Mike treated us like we were VIPs. Aside from being an all-around friendly guy and pleasant conversationalist, he stayed with us until 6:34PM helping us find and purchase the games/systems we wanted, more than an HOUR overtime. The Trading Post accepts cash only so there was a bit of a leave for the ATM, but he was patient and waited for us even though he could've been home by then, doing his own thing. Props to you Mike, you fantastic human you! If you're a gaming nerd like myself, you will absolutely love coming here. And if not, well, shucks you'll probably...

Another satisfied visit to the shop. Spent an hour just browsing through select PS2/N64/Snes games, and checking them off my list. Although the shop was a bit crowded, the team was really attentive to my needs, and friendly throughout. Great morale. Top notch service. Donāt sleep on this shop, and support your local small business.
First things first, this place is a gold mine. The second I walked in, I felt like a kid again, having flashbacks of walking into a Kay Bee Toys. The selection is bonkers lol and everything is Retro, even the shopping bags from Radio Shack. I recently found this place through google, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed. My first visit there, I made a small, yet satisfying purchase of a Neo Geo Pocket Color game, KOF R2. Absolutely happy with that. Customer service was impeccable. Another purchase on my second visit was a copy of Spider-Man, Cap America and the Avengers, and Zelda Link To The Past for my SNES, and the folks working there were so gracious to test them out, clean them, and made sure that I was very happy walking out that door, and I most certainly was. I work not too far from there, as I commute from Staten Island to Garden City daily , and the travel was well worth going out of my way. Definitely a satisfied customer. Iāll be back soon. By the way, itās a cash only store, which is perfectly understandable. Theres an ATM and a bank nearby, so no need to fret. Come prepared beforehand. It...
