To begin, I have visited this restaurant on several occasions with friends and family and had a positive experience with the staff and food. However, this particular visit was marred by an embarrassing encounter with the waitress and waiter.
My cousin and I decided to dine at this restaurant because she was in the mood for a seafood boil. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly waitress who allowed us to select our seating. Immediately, as we sat down at the table, my cousin noticed that the utensils provided for our meal were dirty from sauce, suggesting they had previously been used. I expressed my concern to the waitress, who promptly apologized and replaced the dirty utensils. Unfortunately, the utensils she switched out were also covered in sauce and mysterious.
We ordered our food, and it arrived promptly. However, I am not particularly fond of seafood boils or fried seafood, so I opted for French fries. My cousin enjoyed her seafood boil, but she noticed one of the other waitresses giving us a disapproving look. Consequently, we decided to focus on our meals.
After finishing our food, my cousin noticed that another waitress who was not working with us approached our table. She informed us that we had been in the restaurant for an hour, which was surprising as I was unaware that this restaurant had a one-hour time limit. At that point, my cousin decided to take the remainder of her meal home.
We requested our bill, and a waiter promptly handed it to us. Before we could pay, he rudely pointed to the tip section and reminded us to tip. This behavior was unacceptable, so we paid our bill and left the restaurant.
As we were exiting the restaurant, the waiter followed us outside into the parking lot and started yelling at us, demanding why we hadn’t tipped. We explained our reasons for not tipping, mentioning the poor treatment we had received from him and the other waitress. He responded by cursing and yelling, which frightened both of us and embarrassed us for being in such...
Read moreI want to first start with saying - this is not a kid friendly establishment. Now, depending on who the parent is, it might be perfectly fine but, we don’t all live in a desensitized reality. We were a bit off put but the name of the place being “Sexy Crab” but we decided to try it when it advertised as being kid friendly. However, in 2024, “ghetto ratchet” is what sells.
Most restaurants will sing happy birthday as a staff or play a happy birthday song to commemorate someone’s birthday. This establishment however chooses to BLAST tasteless music in place of that. One of the songs that was played was by the “artist” “Sexyy Red”, which literally wasn’t even a birthday themed song. But they turned it on, raised the volume and had a server go over to the table and dance with the sign, while other patrons proceeded to behave like they were in a club! I immediately voiced to one of the staff members “it’s either this is a kid friendly establishment or not! You guys have to pick one!” This is essentially an adults crab shack.
As for the food, it was okay. We did do the buffet menu, which is $50 a person for dinner and half price for children if they are a certain height. My 11 year old is around 4’6” and because of that, we were charged full price for him and he barely ate! So we were sure to limit how much we ordered, in order to not be charged that extra $15 per pound to take our leftovers home. We ordered a few appetizers and then did a boil after. Now, one would assume, as a part of 4, they would know that we needed more than ONE crab cluster and ONE egg for the boil! They brought out one boil pan for the entire table and when we asked if that’s all there was, the guy said “do you want more?” That would imply that what was brought out was enough to begin with and we were asking for extra! Then when I asked about the eggs, I was told that additional eggs needed to be ordered, otherwise standard order only comes with (1) boiled egg per pan.
It’s safe to say I won’t...
Read moreI have so much to say but will try my best to make it as simple as I can. I thought that I would never find somewhere as good as Crafty Crab in Orlando, I WAS WRONG ! I found better !!! SEXY CRAB IS THE BEST !!! My family and I are building a home in North Bellmore so we are exploring our food options since our home completes in 3 months. I called first and spoke to Steve because my children, they don’t eat seafood at all and only eat burgers and fries or so. My children are special needs & have sensory issues so texture is a problem for them but I rather choose somewhere they can eat with us or I just wouldn’t go at all. I asked if it was ok that they don’t do the unlimited all you can eat and he said SURE! We took the kids with us, it was my birthday by the way. The kids had about two orders of French fries, an order of onion rings and their drinks. My husband and I, well, we took part in the all you can eat and I must say, they are ON POINT ! They are so kind and nice. I understood why Steve told us to come hungry that it’s a lot of food. We had the dinner all you can eat which began at 4pm. We had broils, wings, a crab cake, Korean style short ribs and even more. We shared a lot of things together because we didn’t want to waste and double order. I have to say, EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS, had a great temperature, staff was on us incase we needed more food. IT WAS AMAZING ! While there, we actually called our family and told them we found an awesome spot and would bring them because it’s worth it ! People started messaging on social media asking where it is and I HAD TO tell everyone how great of an experience it was. ALSO, they have a parking lot !!! At the end, I ordered an ice cream and was given it. Another server, brought another with a candle. They played music for my birthday and sang, it was just Lovely! This is our new spot ! Please go and try it and it doesn’t hurt to leave a review for the next...
