I recently visited your establishement with my uncle because he is a member. He never served in the military but is retired corrections officer. I had not seen or spoke to him in over 12 yrs at the time. I sat down with him at your bar then pulled out my money to buy a beer and he explained that the bar tender would not accept my money. He some how felt the need to tell me two more times as the bar tender watched me pull my money out. I wanted to get up and walk out but I actually stayed to visit with him because that was my first time ever getting the chance to sit down and visit with him and have a drink because of the majority of my years being gone serving my country. I am a retired United States Marine, I have accomplished many things in the Marine Corps, served 2 tours to Iraq in theater of operations and a successful arduous tour as a Marine Corps Drill Instructor on Marine Corps Eastern Recruit Depot Parris Island, respectively. I have served my country 100%, and I understand what the true meaning of sacrifice because I have lived it to the fullest. This proud LEGION has a "ray of hope" in a new bar /kitchen manager named MICHAEL BURKE. Our only hope is that people WILL give this a chance to survive, a chance for VETERANS to return to a home for them, and that friendship and brotherhood WILL PREVAIL. Read moreI'm with friends who have lost a loved one, we stopped at the VFW.to support our veterans and to put a few bucks in the hands who are willing to help get my true friends things into a Uhaul. The love we felt was just wow. We asked and a Beautiful gentleman named Ken. came up to us and said he'd love to help and is bringing brother's who are also Veterans. Not only are we not allowed to give money and I will try, but we wanted to eat, it was closing soon and that was that. We talked among ourselves and were ready to leave and this Beautiful and I mean Beautiful lady asked if we needed money for food.
