Let me preface this review by saying it will almost seem unbelievable because it is considered a ā€œreputableā€ restaurant in Horseheads. Last week, my family made reservations for 10 at 5:30 on Tuesday for my niece’s birthday dinner. We all got there and our drink orders were taken. The non-alcoholic drinks came fairly quickly. Our bar drinks took exceptional long bc apparently there wasn’t a bartender working (it was apparent bc my margarita came in a highball glass and tasted like just the sour mix). I’m not sure who was making the drinks but they did finally come. Eventually our food orders were taken and we figured it would take a bit considering there were 10 of us. However, when a party of 4 was seated next to us about 30 min after we sat down and got their meal, it became apparent this would be that awkwardly long wait. The server would come back every now and then to assure us our food was coming. (Mind you, I drove an hour w a 7 year old to celebrate). Just before 7, my mom got up from the table and found another waitress to ask her to go back and check on our meal. By that time, my son was a mess and our waitress came and asked if we just wanted it boxed up to go. We said if it was coming in the next few minutes, we’d wait. By 7:15 we had our meals in front of us (remember we got there at 5:30 w a reservation) Most of the meals were cold but we could at least eat before we had to drive back an hour. We boxed up our leftover food and took some cake that my sister in law brought to celebrate to go. Our total for ten of us came to about 420 dollars and on top of that included the tip since it was a larger table. Now here’s where it gets crazy. My brother, who has frequented this place, decided to drive back when it opened on Wednesday to just talk to the owner about our experience. When he got there the bartender said the owner was not there but that she’d have him call. A few hours later, my brother got a call, not from the owner (I hope), that said if he wanted to ā€œpull up out front of the restaurant, they could settle this like real men.ā€ My brother was shocked that this was the response and obviously did not take him up on his offer. My recommendation: stay away from this place, especially if you dare say anything is wrong, you might find yourself ā€œsettling things up with Louie in the back parking lot,ā€ whatever that means. Next time I’m in town, we will go to hibachi...

We got the new girl, again. We’ve been here six times this week. We understand she doesn’t always know what she’s doing yet and needs time to learn. However, today I called ahead to make sure they were going to have a burger on the lunch menu and they said they would so we came for lunch She didn’t know what it came with she didn’t know what was on it so we said as long as there’s no mayonnaise that’s fine. We got a burger and some kind of a maybe a sourdough bread. No just bread. She should’ve told us that. On the bill, it was written up as a bacon Swiss burger. We didn’t know it came with Swiss cheese. She did not tell us that we would’ve chosen. We would’ve taken bacon also. But we did not know. We were charged for a bacon cheeseburger, which in most establishments are more expensive, but she insisted that it was the same price. While discussing it some tall, dark haired guy in the kitchen made a snide comment that we could’ve gone to Burger King. He didn’t know I could hear him. Very unprofessional. When I brought it up to someone at the counter, who seemed like they worked there. He said he didn’t say anything. I said no you didn’t but someone in the kitchen did. And we don’t have to come here for lunch, but we chose to. And my friend said well we won’t be...

We chose Louie’s to close out our 25th anniversary night, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The atmosphere was incredibly inviting, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was super friendly, cheerful, and excellent at her job.

The food was top-notch—both my husband and I were thoroughly impressed. We’ve already decided that whenever we have guests visiting, Louie’s will be a go-to spot. We moved to the area on January 1, 2023, and while it’s only been two years, it feels amazing to have discovered such a gem just a few blocks away.

Louie’s has a vibe that reminded me of the show Cheers—a place where everyone knows your name. The management was super friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. This is the kind of place where you’re treated well, enjoy fantastic food, and leave feeling like part of the community.

We’ll definitely be back, and if you haven’t been here yet, what are you waiting for? Whether it’s a special occasion, a casual night out, or just a craving for delicious food, Louie’s is a must-visit. You won’t be...

My first visit, definitely will not be my last! We moved to Elmira from Syracuse about 2 years ago and this was our first visit to Louies. This was the best dining experience I've had in 10 years. Louies has a great ambience, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Barbara was our server and she was on point, it appeared all the staff was too. Drinks always full, she was very attentive but not overbearing. The food... OMG the food. The bread was phenomenal (I'm very picky about my bread), I am also funny when it comes to fountain soda, the mixes are always different. There's was perfect. The salad was good, but it's salad... I'm not going to get too excited for salad. We both got the butcher block special, with the garlic butter. It was a delicious perfectly done steak. We also got the fettuccine alfredo, which is the best fettuccine alfredo I ever had. the texture of the noodles were spot on, the Alfredo wasn't too rich.. it was perfect. Everything about our meal tonight was perfect. We are now regulars at Louies Hanover Square.

Good place to carry out food by paying cash. Dine in exp- Their pizzas and appetizers are quite tasty. Applauding service. People who can't handle spice, be careful with their Spicy Shrimp. In general, all their dishes with peppers. The hot peppers make the dish very hot; thus, it's quite tasty! We went there twice. And both the times, they did not have tiramisu, which was a huge disappointment. So, for a complete Italian experience, I wouldn't recommend this place. For trying good food, definitely. *Carry cash* They charge an additional 4-5% for all cards. I carry multiple cards everywhere (credit & debit), so that I can use the business's preferred one. But here, only cash will save you. This makes visiting this place quite expensive. Could be a 4.5 āļø place if they would stop charging for cards and plan better to not run out of menu items. Overall 3.5/5

Louie’s has become my favorite place to dine within the greater Corning-Elmira area. Every course of food is exquisite—from the Classic Shrimp Scampi & Bruschetta appetizers to the side salad comprised of baby arugula, red, yellow & orange peppers, grape tomatoes, cucumbers and croutons with house Italian dressing, to the main course. I love the wide array of Italian pasta entrĆ©e specials consistently offered, as well as the delectable homemade desserts. Tiramisu has been my favorite thus far, but I have yet to try the cannoli or homemade ice cream sandwich with Nutella. Oh, and not to be forgotten—the wine list is always populated with a stupendous lineup of wine choices from around the world. This quaint little street corner restaurant is has a crisp and classy atmosphere with a menu and service that will not disappoint. EVERYTHING tastes great!
