Let me preface this review by saying it will almost seem unbelievable because it is considered a āreputableā restaurant in Horseheads. Last week, my family made reservations for 10 at 5:30 on Tuesday for my nieceās birthday dinner. We all got there and our drink orders were taken. The non-alcoholic drinks came fairly quickly. Our bar drinks took exceptional long bc apparently there wasnāt a bartender working (it was apparent bc my margarita came in a highball glass and tasted like just the sour mix). Iām not sure who was making the drinks but they did finally come. Eventually our food orders were taken and we figured it would take a bit considering there were 10 of us. However, when a party of 4 was seated next to us about 30 min after we sat down and got their meal, it became apparent this would be that awkwardly long wait. The server would come back every now and then to assure us our food was coming. (Mind you, I drove an hour w a 7 year old to celebrate). Just before 7, my mom got up from the table and found another waitress to ask her to go back and check on our meal. By that time, my son was a mess and our waitress came and asked if we just wanted it boxed up to go. We said if it was coming in the next few minutes, weād wait. By 7:15 we had our meals in front of us (remember we got there at 5:30 w a reservation) Most of the meals were cold but we could at least eat before we had to drive back an hour. We boxed up our leftover food and took some cake that my sister in law brought to celebrate to go. Our total for ten of us came to about 420 dollars and on top of that included the tip since it was a larger table. Now hereās where it gets crazy. My brother, who has frequented this place, decided to drive back when it opened on Wednesday to just talk to the owner about our experience. When he got there the bartender said the owner was not there but that sheād have him call. A few hours later, my brother got a call, not from the owner (I hope), that said if he wanted to āpull up out front of the restaurant, they could settle this like real men.ā My brother was shocked that this was the response and obviously did not take him up on his offer. My recommendation: stay away from this place, especially if you dare say anything is wrong, you might find yourself āsettling things up with Louie in the back parking lot,ā whatever that means. Next time Iām in town, we will go to hibachi...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe got the new girl, again. Weāve been here six times this week. We understand she doesnāt always know what sheās doing yet and needs time to learn. However, today I called ahead to make sure they were going to have a burger on the lunch menu and they said they would so we came for lunch She didnāt know what it came with she didnāt know what was on it so we said as long as thereās no mayonnaise thatās fine. We got a burger and some kind of a maybe a sourdough bread. No just bread. She shouldāve told us that. On the bill, it was written up as a bacon Swiss burger. We didnāt know it came with Swiss cheese. She did not tell us that we wouldāve chosen. We wouldāve taken bacon also. But we did not know. We were charged for a bacon cheeseburger, which in most establishments are more expensive, but she insisted that it was the same price. While discussing it some tall, dark haired guy in the kitchen made a snide comment that we couldāve gone to Burger King. He didnāt know I could hear him. Very unprofessional. When I brought it up to someone at the counter, who seemed like they worked there. He said he didnāt say anything. I said no you didnāt but someone in the kitchen did. And we donāt have to come here for lunch, but we chose to. And my friend said well we wonāt be...

The food was top-notchāboth my husband and I were thoroughly impressed. Weāve already decided that whenever we have guests visiting, Louieās will be a go-to spot. We moved to the area on January 1, 2023, and while itās only been two years, it feels amazing to have discovered such a gem just a few blocks away.
Louieās has a vibe that reminded me of the show Cheersāa place where everyone knows your name. The management was super friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. This is the kind of place where youāre treated well, enjoy fantastic food, and leave feeling like part of the community.
Weāll definitely be back, and if you havenāt been here yet, what are you waiting for? Whether itās a special occasion, a casual night out, or just a craving for delicious food, Louieās is a must-visit. You wonāt be...
