I went to this jeweler for an appraisal. They couldn’t have been more rude and less patient during the process. They barely spent more than 10 mins looking at my ring. They also weren’t happy that we bought the ring from an outside jeweler and they questioned why the jeweler we got the ring from didn’t do the appraisal himself. Village Jewelers then proceeded to say my ring was worth less than HALF of what my fiancé paid. Following this awful and embarrassing experience we went to two different gemologists. We paid over $100 for each appraisal and both gemologists appraised my ring for what my fiancé paid at the time of purchase. My mom was very upset because the owner promised her that he would give her a good price for her 2 carat diamond ring and he kept it for six months. Every time she called he gave her a different excuse and finally he gave her a third of what he said he would get her. Very sweet but definitely not genuine. My mom was really very upset.
