I'm a week out from my wedding and thankfully we had the most beautiful day but out of all the vendors Kerianne Meehan Designs was by far the biggest and only disappointment. Her work or maybe it was her staff who worked on our dresses is mediocre at best and she charges a premium for it. My mom, sister and myself (the bride) went to Kerianne about 6 weeks before my wedding. She is a ray of sunshine and has a way of putting you at ease but now reflecting on everything I feel like we were all swindled by a phony used car salesperson. I have worked in bridal before and it is customary to have 2-3 fittings for a bridal gown, Kerianne only does one fitting. When dropping off my dress I asked if 6 weeks was enough time and she said no problem. My next appointment was not until about 11 days before my wedding, admittedly I had decided to add sleeves and understood sourcing the lace would take some time but it seemed kind of close. I get a phone call a few days before the appointment that they need to push my appointment by a few days to ensure "everything is perfect". Okay again total trust and don't think anything of it...that was my first mistake. When I arrive at my appointment, I try on the dress and they make the dress so tight it took two people to get me into it. Kerianne and her assistant were literally pushing my skin in to try and make sure the dress would zip and just to give you some reference I'm 125 lbs and 5'5. Once the dress is on, the sleeves are too short, the buttons on the illusion back are going in different directions and I'm so compressed that my breasts are non-existent, the bustle was also not completed....you had 5 weeks to work on this and this is supposedly my one and only fitting, what are you doing? She insisted that it looked fine and the sleeves were fine...glad to see she is confident in her/staff's terrible work. So after some back and forth she begrudgingly agrees to fix the dress and charges me another $300 for her mistake after already charging $1500. At that moment I would have picked up and left but I had 9 days until my big day and knew I had to stick it out. It gets better, the mother of the bride puts on her dress and it doesn't look like anything was done. Nothing was taking in and the top part of her dress flapped out so much you could have poured a drink down my mom's dress. Kerianne used the defense that my mother asked for width on the top and it was supposed to fit like that...the fit was horrific. On what planet is the top part of a strapless dress supposed to protrude out 4-5 inches from one's chest? And don't you worry, we paid for that mistake again with another $200...the cash register was purring that day! My sister was the only one that day where the fit of her dress "appeared" right....We returned 5 days later to Kerianne and thankfully it "appeared" everything was fixed and looked nice, it was the type of work we expected from Kerianne from the get go. On the day of my wedding everything is going well and when my sister tries to get into her dress the zipper breaks. We had to scramble and found a local bridal shop that saved the day. The seamstress who fixed it said the dress was taken in way too much by two sizes...resulting in compromising the integrity of the zipper. We also told them we paid $450 in alterations for her dress, when it was only a $300 dress, they actually said "We are so sorry, you were ripped off" A faulty zipper happens but the reality is my zipper kept falling down the night of my wedding and my mom's zipper was problematic as well....all three dresses were different manufacturers, the only common thing was Kerianne and her staff had worked on it. After the first dance, my bustle comes apart, the bridal attendant tries to rebustle me and says to me "this bustle was not done correctly." Between my mom, sister and I we spent a total of $3000 for some of the worst alteration work...

Kerianne Meehan - You are the unparalleled best!!! Period. I can't express enough how incredible my experience was with Kerianne Meehan. From the very first phone call, and my first consultation, I was captivated not only by her stunning portfolio of one-of-a-kind dresses, a true workshop studio with lots of fabrics and appliqués, but also by her vibrant personality. She is the epitome of fun and bubbly, making the entire process feel like an exciting adventure rather than just another appointment.
Kerianne has an extraordinary ability to listen and truly understand your vision. There’s no such thing as “this may seem like an odd or crazy request….”, if anyone can design it, it’s her! She effortlessly translates your thoughts and ideas into breathtaking designs that reflect your unique style. Her creativity knows no bounds, and her passion for her craft shines through in every conversation. It's clear that she pours her heart into every piece she creates. I mean, just look at her work!!
What truly sets her apart is the one-on-one experience she offers. I felt so special and heard throughout the entire process. She took the time to make sure every detail was perfect, and that personal touch made all the difference. She has seen and worked with all body types, shapes, sizes and styles. She doesn’t just make a dress fit you, she makes you the dress. What I mean is, that she, this petite beautiful fun and incredibly talented skilled dressmaker (who I like to call the magician) doesn't just alter a dress to fit your body, but instead, she creates a garment that is specifically tailored to your unique shape and contours, essentially "making you the dress" by designing it around your body's individual lines, rather than trying to force your body into a standard size dress. My dress fit like it was second skin…. And I was truly comfortable too! Of course we had a dance party to make sure every dance move looked good and felt good.
Her work doesn’t stop at bridal, evening gowns or suits. She does it all and I mean literally does it all! Veils with “I love you forever and always” in the handwriting from your soon to be husband? Yes. Use the fabric from your grandmothers gown from 80 years ago and turn it into your dream dress? Sure. Cufflinks with a photo of your dog? Of course. A hand written note lined into your suit jacket from your grandfather? Absolutely. Flower girl handbags, a handkerchief with your handwriting to gift to dad as he gives you away? Most definitely. The custom pieces she designed for me are not just dresses; they are sentimental treasures that still bring tears to my eyes every time I see them - just like the first time I laid eyes on them. Kerianne created so many sentimental pieces for my wedding day that were included on my dress, special gifts for family, and even beautifully afterwards made a shadow box of the gorgeous handwritten & appliqué roses from my late aunt & grandmother. A particularly touching element was the personalized handkerchiefs from my grandmothers old lace table cloth, with handwriting, for gifts to my family. Or the custom made handbags with a photo of my late aunt on the inner lining. These hold so much meaning and has become cherished keepsakes for both my family and guests. Everyone that has seen these has commented on how special it is, how it’s something they have never seen before and I know it will be treasured for years to come.
If you're looking for a bridal designer who combines exceptional talent with a warm and joyful demeanor, look no further than Kerianne Meehan! She will not only bring your dream dress to life but also make the entire experience unforgettable! Thank you for everything; I will forever be...
Read moreKerianne is the absolute BEST! She is such a dream to work with and so incredibly talented! I cannot recommend her highly enough!! Kerianne restored my mother's wedding dress for me and made me a custom veil and cape for my "forest fairytale romance" November wedding!
My mother's dress was all satin with lace on the bodice and skirt and silk flowers on the off-the-shoulder straps. Kerianne masterfully restored and altered the dress while keeping it true to the original, like I wanted. We needed to lengthen the dress by a little bit and Kerianne matched the lace perfectly to the lace that was already on the hem to extend it and added some extra to the train as well. No one would ever have guessed that an adjustment had been made because everything matched so perfectly! She also added to the flowers on the straps and added some structure to the bodice. She added a waist-stay and built in corset into the bodice so that it would stay up on its own, which was wonderful! The alterations were PERFECT! Everything fit perfectly and was super comfortable and secure too!
I did not wear my mother's veil. Instead, I described to Kerianne the kind of thing I wanted: a very long veil and to be "dripping in flowers," and Kerianne knew the perfect thing right away! She made me a cathedral-length, angel-cut veil with dozens of red and burgundy satin roses and rose petals trailing behind me. It was absolutely perfect! So gorgeous and such an epic veil! I also had a dream of having a romantic cape to complete the ensemble (that would also help keep me warm in November). Kerianne made me the perfect burgundy velvet cape lined with white satin (that matched the dress). It was absolutely stunning! I felt like a fairytale princess, and people still comment on how amazing all the pieces were!
Kerianne made my wedding dress, veil, and cape dreams come true!! She's clearly so passionate about her work and took the utmost care with everything! And she's delightful to work with! I really couldn't be happier! I even sent all my pieces back to her (from across the country) for cleaning and preservation because I wouldn't trust anyone else with my garments. Anyways, I could rave about Kerianne all night! Everything was absolutely perfect. Kerianne really knows her stuff and does a fabulous and quality job! I highly recommend her...
