I recently decided to take a trip to Heartland Golf Parks driving range to hit some balls. I grew up playing golf and have many years of experience at the range and on courses. I have not gotten a new pair of clubs since moving to New York so I rented a driver from them. The cost was $3 to rent and then $20 for 275 balls. About 30 balls in, my golf club breaks. I have never broken a club in my life and was very surprised. I brought the club to the front to let them know only for them to blame me for breaking the club as if I did it on purpose and tell me I had to pay a fee for the club. They refused to give me another driver and said the best they could do was give me an iron. I took the iron and went out to continue hitting my balls only to find that someone had stolen my card with over 200 balls still on it. I went back inside to speak with the desk again. They brought me outside where someone told me that if I wanted to see the cameras I would have to wait until Monday to call a provided number but they would not do anything for me at the moment. I then went inside to retrieve my license from the front(for renting the club) to which they refused to give it to me unless I paid a $15 fee for breaking the club. I told them that I signed no contract and thought it was unreasonable for them to charge me for the club as it was an accident. The manager yelled at me in front of an audience of people, got in my face as though to intimidate me and said “you’re not getting you’re license unless you pay.” I had no other choice but to pay and will follow up with the owner/manager. To say I would not recommend this place is an understatement. I absolutely love golf and have played for many years and plenty of different ranges and courses and have never been treated with such aggression and disrespect. Would...
Read moreSince my teenage years, I've always enjoyed going to Heartland. I've only ever experienced the driving range and the miniature golf course since I'm terrible at actual golf, but those are both great fun here.
Heartland features an automatic tee-up system at the driving range, so there's no need to bend down and manually tee-up after each swing. The height of the tee can be raised and lowered electronically too, so you can find the adjustment that best suits you.
The convenience of the automatic tees is only surpassed by the card system they use here. At the desk, you pay to have a certain number of balls added to your card. There are several different price options that determine how many balls are added. If you don't finish hitting the total amount of balls on your card, you can take the card with you and use it during your next visit. You never have to feel obligated to hit out every ball, and you always end up getting your money's worth (unless you lose your card, that is).
The miniature golf course is very nice as well, though I usually leave there feeling bitter and frustrated since I'm pretty lousy at that too. The course has its share challenging holes, and it features many captivating ponds and waterways where unfortunate golf balls go to die.
It's been a few years since I've gone to Heartland, but writing this review reminded me of how much fun it is. I think I'll take a trip there as soon as I locate and dust...
Read moreThis place has so much potential, wish the venue had more ambitious owner or management team ready to invest into the place and give it some fresh look and ready to make some changes. They have mini golf, driving range and 3 par course. Pros: All 3 options are very affordable and have space to maneuver. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Convenient location and amazing hours of operation. Cons: place is very run down and overdue for a much needed upgrade. pond in mini golf is dirty and water is blue & has foam due to artificial dye. Driving range slot machines are so old and worn out, 1/3 are broken and the ones that are still working- surprised how they still function; mats have large rips and visible tears. Grounds have visible cracks , paint is chipped. Lobby is empty, and feels old and eerie. Typically 1 vending machine out of 6 is working and food court has been closed for forever. There are no clubs for rental either, which is a bummer if you bring someone without their own clubs. I think having some new arcades in the lobby to entertain kids and teens; updating the mats, putting some nice music over the speakers, maybe opening the food court back with easy grab and go items can do wonders for this place and help to attract new clientele and increase the average spend...
