Aerostat Balloon Company — Local services in Town of Kingsbury

Flying in a hot air balloon was an item in my wife's bucket list, but for me, it was something I never thought of doing. But on July 27th in the early morning hours, in a rural part of NY, we met with pilots Dave and Mark Radloff of Aerostat, to begin our adventure.

We traveled to a large field belonging to a friend of the pilots and from there we took off on a hot air balloon ride, scratching one item off that bucket list. I must say, it was one of the best experiences of our lives.

The weather was good but a little hazy. Never the less, the view was still beautiful. Our pilot Mark, took us up around 3000 ft and flew us on a smooth ride for about an hour then brought us in with a smooth landing. Afterwards, we, along with my fellow passengers met up with his son Dave (who piloted another balloon), his passengers and both ground crews and had a celebratory champagne toast.

Now floating in a basket attached to a balloon thousands of feet up is an experience most people would say is the most memorable part of a hot air balloon ride. But for me it was something else. I was able to assist the pilot and crew with inflating the balloon, then the breakdown and pack up process. So, though flying and see the view was great, being able to assist them was truly awesome.

We had an amazing flight with Dave and the team at Aerostat Balloon Company! Everyone was so friendly, down to earth, and professional, which made the entire experience even more special.

The views were absolutely breathtaking and the weather was perfect. We also loved that they invited us to help with getting the balloon ready before the flight. It was such a fun, hands-on touch that made the adventure even more memorable.

We had never done anything like this before. I am terrified of heights. They made this the best experience. Watched the balloon being assembled. They explained everything to us.
