Placed an online order the beginning of August, and it never got packaged (USPS shipping label created) until August 31. Waited until Sept. 9 to notify shop that the package had never been delivered. I was told by the shop that the package must have been lost in the mail by an unreliable PO branch that they had continued problems with. Was told I could get a refund or they would resend the items. After a few more days, I called and asked for the package to be resent. I finally received a package about a week later. The package had the shipping label with the number and date of the one created on August 31. There was a card inside saying they hoped I enjoyed the items (extra stickers included for my inconvenience) and they hope the first package showed up. I contacted the shop and was told that the mailing label was reprinted. Fact checked with the USPS: shipping labels can only be reprinted within the 24 hour period which it was initially created. So, that label could not have been reprinted on September 9. Also a fact: if a label had been reprinted with an identical tracking number, once it entered the USPS tracking system, the label on the first package would never be accepted as postage, because the postage on the label was already used. So, the vendor should have understood that a "reprinted" label would invalidate the original, which would mean the first package would go back to the sender. The card saying "I hope the first package shows up" seems a poor attempt to cover up a delay in shipping caused by the shop and not the Post Office. Even though I appreciate the quality of the shops products, it is doubtful I would do business in the future with someone who was so blatantly covering a shipping delay on their part. A much earlier review also references shipping delays. It's amazing that shipping would be allowed to be an...
Read moreWalking into Almost Local for the first time felt just like home. I felt like I could curl up with a good book and spend all day there. The store owner Rachel was so welcoming and let's not forget the warm welcome of Tucker her adorable and fluffy assistant. Rachel explained to my fiance and I that the store represents who she is as a creator and how she is supporting other creative business owners and artisans in CNY by having their items in the shop as well. Almost Local truly believes in artists, the community and the stories they create. I was fortunate enough to purchase a beautiful globe that is in our apartment that is hand lettered "Adventure Awaits..." and I cannot wait for our next adventure to Almost Local to purchase more original pieces from artists and creators from Upstate...
Read moreAlmost Local is such an amazing shop. I'm originally from the area and ALWAYS make sure I stop by while I'm there to see what's news. I get a ton of compliments on my "I'd rather be upstate" and "Camp" sweatshirts. It's the perfect for me to "shop local" from afar during the holidays, too! It's so easy to buy everything I need from their online store and have it shipped directly to the recipients. There are some very clever gift box options that have gone over very well with friends and family. If you're looking for something unique for yourself or a loved one, you've got to check out Almost Local in person or online. (And if you're lucky enough to meet the shop pup, Tucker, give him some love from...
