Dollar General — Local services in Town of Middletown

I was in today 2019 3 24. Trying to return a candle because it would not stay light after using. The blond woman younger said she cannot accept the candle because it was opened. She said she was the store manager yet she knew nothing about the return policy the then so called store manager needed to ask another person whom was not a manager what their return policy is. The candle was defective. I was able to switch the product however as I purchased another item the same woman was very rude the blond. Never said the cost of the item. Never said boo the entire transaction. She also never bagged the item. If this woman is a manager that is scary as customer service is another...

I'm not sure if these grocery stores are going down fast due to neglect,mismanagement or lack of employees. Again..like some of the larger retail shops that we visited lately this is equally disappointing. The store looks like a corner café from years back..stuff everywhere..shelves empty as if looted and boxes in the Isles still to be unpacked. Dollar general used to be the 'go to' store for anything and everything..it has great value for money as usual..if you can find what you need.. or you need to get out as soon as possible. Store may not look as good as it has that last few months but its totally understandable considering they are getting ready for a remodel next weekend. I have been to other stores that have no remodel and it looks worse than this one. I understand that things "look" out of place to the outside when big changes are occurring.
