Check all receipts, read all labels and prices of plants and gardening supplies purchased, do your own calculations and make sure it matches with the register.
I have bought hundreds of dollars worth of plants here because I thought this was the go-to place for them, but my interactions with the family members that run the business has been abysmal. My last trip there was the final straw and I will find a different place to go. During my last trip, I bought 2 bags of 3 cubic feet of cedar mulch (6 cf total). After paying for them, one of the garden workers brought me 2 bags of 2 cubic feet of mulch (4 cf). I told him that those were the wrong bags, and if I hadn't read the labels carefully I would never have noticed that they were giving me less mulch than what I paid for. The worker apologized and said they only had 2 cubic feet bags, so he brought me a third bag but had to notify the boss that the number of bags I was getting was different (even though I paid for the same amount of 6 cubic feet of mulch).
It turned out I had to buy the 3 bags of 2 cf of mulch and get a refund on the 2 bags of 3 cf of mulch I had paid for. The difference was I had to pay like 12 extra dollars and while this was annoying, the cashier was extremely rude to me and made it seem like it was my fault for calling them out for not tracking their inventory.
Well now that I've written this all out this post seems very petty, but I really feel like this nursery should (continue) to be called out for their poor customer service and shoppers should at least consider other options in the area. The workers that do all the labor are actually super friendly and helpful, but they don't own the place. The people that do own it oversee the register and are not friendly at all. I swear it feels like they are bitter when I pay $150 for a shrub. I guess I would be bitter too if someone paid that much for a PLANT but still, I wouldn't make people feel bad...
Read moreA designer from Rosedale's Landscaping department has been advising us over the past year. Kevin has carefully studied our home (situated halfway up a hill) and surroundings. He worked with our contractor to design lovely stone walkways and walls. In the Fall, he planted the most amazing selection along the front and sides of our home. Since the beginning of the season, there have been a number of shrubs, bulbs and other plantings that bloom simultaneously and add luscious color and contrast. We are just completing a major landscaping project in our back garden/hillside/patio and additional work in the front yard. Kevin's design and advice is top notch and the selection and quality of plantings he brings from Rosedale is outstanding. We would highly recommend their landscaping department and in particular the services of Kevin Magnan. He is such a lovely man (kind and gracious) and very, very talented. He has taken this property from a house to a gracious, stately...
Read moreWe've been there many times to buy plants and their retail department is decent and has good selection. Earlier this year we decided to plant several trees, including one large tree. We went twice to scope out and pick out trees. They tagged them and filled out a landscaping request. That was more than 4 months ago. After nobody called I stopped by twice, and was always assured they were just backlogged and someone would call. The second time someone even pulled our landscaping request from the folder and promised to alert the assigned designers. Nevertheless nobody ever called, we never got our tree, and we will not go back there, even for shrubs or plants. In this day an age that's pathetic customer service. At least call us and confirm we're still in the queue and an ETA. They had the right number, because we verified the second time I stopped by to inquire...
