Since DAY ONE of my first contact with Philip at Grand New Flag several years ago, I've experienced the absolute BEST in customer service. This has included brainstorming my special needs residence. Not uncommon are summer winds 50-60 mph, with winter winds coming in at 80-100 mph. Philip has also patiently discussed flag fabrics, flag weights, and lengths. In full disclosure, I've lost only one flag (Pics 6 & 7). The included photos show three U.S. flag lengths - a 25', 15', and 18' U.S. flags in that order. Pics 1 - 4: the latest, a 25' long U.S. flag with an early test of 50 mph winds. Pic 5: sun-shot of 15' U.S. flag with 12' double face POW/MIA flag. Pics 6 & 7: 18' U.S. flag with 12' single face (opposite grommets from standard) POW/MIA with near 100 mph winds and resulting battle damage (back third of POW/MIA flag torn off). These flags were 1-1/2 years old and were lowered/stored only a couple of winter months before these high winds struck. That's a LOT of high wind exposure! While my home didn't so much as lose a shingle (built for the winds), the great news is Old Glory went onto fly for another six months - a full two years since delivery - not bad at all given my extreme conditions. Recently Philip and myself even brainstormed over adding two smaller poles to fly two smaller and different flags, adjacent to my existing 50' pole - ALL of which I will purchase from Philip's GNFs. I've shopped MANY flag distributers for over 20 years. N O N E come close to GNF's quality of product AND service. A bit off topic, but nevertheless related - I also develop loyalties toward businesses that don't just give lip-service about supporting our different service personnel, but that actually put their money where their heart is. Philip and his Kauppinen GNF family not only pay homage to our active duty military, veterans, and first responders with a 15% discount, but they ALSO give 5% of their net profits to an organization the helps Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Finally, I very simply feel this strongly about the products, and services, that the Kauppinen's GNF company offer ;-) I truly believe that this giving back is in their hearts. If in doubt, slow down and take a few minutes to read their "About Us' section of their website, and you'll see what I mean. Good luck! THANK YOU Philip and...
Read moreI was having a problem with my flag furling so I purchased the Never Furl kit. When I first installed it I was disappointed. Every time the wind blew the flag still furled. After discussing it with Philip of Grand New Flag I discovered that the issue wasn't a defect in the product. The problem was I flunked flag furl prevention class. After some remedial training and a retest the kit worked flawlessly and the flag hasn't furled since. The key is in making sure the collar of the lower bushing leaves enough room for that bushing to rise up and take the tension off the upper bushing when the flag wants to furl. This allows the bushings to rotate freely thus preventing the flag from furling. The bottom line is the kit worked flawlessly. Me, not so much. As a sidenote, the customer service here is superb. They are quick to get back to you on any question you may have and will do all they can to assist in resolving any issue or answer your questions. Great products and great experience. 100% made in the USA and they support Veterans and First Responders. A First...
Read moreGreat company, great people, great service. I ordered a wall mounting flag, flagpole, and mount from Grand New Flag. It arrived on time and beautifully stitched with a handwritten note thanking me for my purchase. Immediately I hung it on my porch! I ran into a problem though, and contacted Mr. Kauppinen about it. He jumped right on it and contacted his supplier about the problem, then made sure that they replaced the defective part immediately and at no cost to me. I highly recommend Mr. Kauppinen’s family business and will certainly go back to him for future...
