THIS PLACE SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS AS IT IN NON-COMPLIANT WITH HEALTH AND FOOD SAFETY. My mother in law is a big fan and loves to buy the seafood salad from here, particularly because I love seafood so much. She bought me seafood salad which was packaged on 6/15/25 and gave it to me that day. I decided to open it today. As I am eating it, I was wondering if your store started utilizing mint in it now since it had a bit of a minty flavor. I grabbed another forkful, and to my horror, disovered that in the next few bites, there was a soft, CHEWED PIECE OF GUM in my mouth from the seafood salad, extremely minty and definitely the reason the rest of it was minty. I am disgusted, horrified and feel extremely violated. Not only is this completely unacceptable and unsanitary, but it is an extreme breach of food safety and health safety. Due to poor food handling and negligence, I have to worry about whether or not there is a chance of contracting something because I had an employee's chewed up piece of gum in my mouth and all the psychological distress that comes along with this violation. This is truly disappointing and disgusting. This place should be out of business immediately!...
Read moreAsked for four servings of salmon about a month ago. Guy behind the counter gave me over 4 pounds of salmon. You buy strawberries? They don’t even make it overnight before they’re covered in mold. Today? Was my final visit. Should’ve known better to go there on a Sunday. Absolute zoo. Cold cut counter has the Number board. I’m 57 years old. My entire life you take a number? They call the number is one at a time and change the number when someone answers or does not answer. It was number 18 I had number 22. I was completely paying attention. If anybody called out the numbers? It certainly was not loud enough to hear. Guy goes over to the Number board and changes the number from 18 to 23. I tell him what about 22? He just shrugs his shoulders. This place used to be very good now it’s hit or miss. One day, the vegetables and fruit are good. The next time they’re rotten on the inside, the next time after that? They flavorless. And just to shop in this place? It’s almost the vibe of going to Costco by Roosevelt Field. An absolute zoo. Animals from all different parts...
Read moreI have to admit I've been going to this store for quite some time. The prices really are beyond competitive which benefits me b/c I have a lot of mouths to feed. They recently remodeled the store so the deli dept & fish dept seem cleaner. Parking remains a nightmare no matter when you go unless, I guess, you go really late in the day but then you risk getting whatever is left, especially in the meat dept. The biggest complaint I have is with the produce. Mostly always it's previously frozen to protect the shelf life. So...unless you live in the neighborhood and your eating it the next day, it doesn't stay fresh very long. Some examples are grapes, bananas, strawberries and mesclun salad. Strawberries almost always are moldy the very next day.I've sinced learned, getting my grapes and strawberries at BJ's is a huge improvement. Pay a little more but you don't have to eat them as soon as you get them home. If you could live with these mentioned shortcomings, then I guess it's a...
