Nicolette's For The Home — Local services in Town of Oyster Bay

I was so disappointed when I was here. My sister in law is a teacher and received gift cards from her students to Nicolette’s For the Home right before covid. Not only dealing with covid, she was dealing with her mom and husband both being diagnosed with cancer. It is now 4 years later and my mother in law passed away last month. I took my sister in law to this store figuring I would get her out plus knowing she had gift cards she could use. The woman behind the counter told her the gift cards cannot be used because they have since upgraded their system and it cannot accept the old gift cards. 75$ wasted!!!! During this time we have so much more to be upset about but I felt the need to make this complaint……… We believe in supporting our local businesses. With that being said, when YOU the owner of this small business shows no remorse or compassion to your customers and makes no effort to even attempt to accommodate or try to resolve the situation as best they can to want that customer to come back, that shows YOU the owner truly doesn’t care. After having seen a few other displays of flowers at places like Lowe’s and Home Depot we knew we needed to go back to the best Nursery. Nicolette’s checks every single box you could possibly have. Their presentation is immaculate; the flowers are gorgeous and well kept, and most of all it’s a family owned business with the sweetest and most helpful staff. There is no reason to go anywhere else, as they are reasonably priced and you won’t find better flowers anywhere: there truly is no comparison. Also the inside area has the cutest home items, especially if you have an upcoming housewarming or need a baby or bridal gift. Can’t recommend this...

I received gift cards from my students a few years back to Nicolette’s. I finally got to go there and use them but when I went to check out, they would not honor my gift cards saying they changed their system and was not honoring my cards. I was quite surprised that a store would not honor THEIR OWN GIFT CARDS. I explained that I’ve been taking care of my husband and mother who both had cancer. I received a cold reply and will never visit this store again. Shame on you! Hope life never gives...
