I am deeply disappointed with the unethical and illegal bait and switch practices at this center. We made it very clear from the start that we wanted the Pelham location, which was confirmed during our walkthrough. The staff even showed us the specific room our child would be in. All paperwork was completed for the Pelham site. However, after we made the payment and were registered on the Playground app, we found out through the teacher that our child had been placed at the New Rochelle site instead.
When we brought up this concern, we were essentially given an ultimatum, accept the switch or lose the scholarship. This kind of bait and switch is both unethical and illegal. We would have gladly placed our child at Pelham without the scholarship, but these shady business practices have left us feeling uneasy and distrustful. It also took away from the the time we would’ve had to search for other options had they been more forthcoming and honest.
This approach to business is deceptive and unprofessional.
i am editing this post to reply to the response from the business owner. We did have a tour in April and decided not to move forward at that time. The second tour took place on October 9th, and I have a screenshot as proof. I even joined the call from afar due to a scheduling issue, as the host was traveling at the time of the interview. On October 8th, the invitation to apply for the scholarship was sent out, stating it was an opportunity to “make it more affordable.” After reviewing the income information, Anna and Jack made the decision to award the scholarship based on the details provided for which we were grateful as we were not expecting the discount based on our income. The application was completed, and the owner gave Josh two days to decide on enrollment, and that commitment was communicated within the deadline. The email also mentioned that if no seats were available, we would be placed on a waiting list. However, instead of being waitlisted, we were assigned to a completely different center, despite available seats at the Pelham location. We only learned that we were assigned to New Rochelle after making the payment and communicating with the teacher in the app. Regardless of the situation and the fact that we aren’t attending the site, it’s frustrating that there has been no accountability in...
Read moreAnna and Jack’s Treehouse always goes above and beyond to engage the kids and their parents. The 2025 Art Show at the Pelham Treehouse was no exception. I loved seeing how the kids were engaged in learning about the various artists and trying their hand at creating artwork. This event was a cherry on top of the cake where everything was beautifully displayed. It brought everyone together (and even had nibbles and sips for kids and adults) and made the experience so much...
