I recently spent a lovely morning at Powers Farm Market. We picked pumpkins, fed animals, went on a hayride and were amazing and impressed at the carved pumpkin display in the handmade giant corn huts. We also enjoyed lots of yummy treats including pumpkin donuts ad apple cider.
We were there soon after they opened for the day and so we didn't wait in line at all for the hayride. By the time we left around 12:30 pm there were substantially more people waiting in line for the hayride although the line wasn't terrible.
This was my toddlers first "haunted hayride." I didn't realize that it was haunted before riding (my bad). Luckily it was mostly skeletons doing fun things in the forest like taking a bath, getting married, playing volleyball etc. My toddlers loved it. My littlest one (2) did get scared for a little while at the very end when you go in a barn and the lights turn off, but she was mesmerized by all of the light up pumpkins that turned on right after this. If you're scared of giant fake spiders I would avoid this hayride...
If it's at all wet outside I would wear your rain boots as there is the potential for some serious mud. The pumpkins weren't the cheapest in all the land as the larger pumpkins could be a bit pricier, but small pumpkins are a great value at 1 to 2 dollars per small pumpkin or gourd. And I imagine you are paying more to support the entire amazing operation including the animals, so I am fine with this.
There is a large parking lot that is not paved (wear your rain boots) but I would still consider coming early to avoid the crowd. There is also a wonderful area that s decorated to look like a pumpkin clad stylized front porch to take cute pictures on. Have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to this place last year and loved it. This year I brought my sister who has a sevice dog. She always checks and we both seen a sign that said no pets allowed but service animals could come in the store. We walked in and I heard this man yelling at my sister that no dogs are allowed. She nicely mentioned the sign they have posted that says service animals are okay to come in. He started to get nasty with her. I tried to say something too and he proceeded to yell at me about open food and having dog hair in it. My sister left the store. The open food I seen were apples and they were up on a bin. Baked goods were behind glass or wrapped up. This man could have approached my sister and nicely told her but he decided to yell at her so everyone shopping could hear him. He had on a yellow vest that had security written on it. Obviously that made him feel like a really big man yelling at a woman who needs a service dog!!! He told my sister he needs to take that sign down which by the way he did not bother to do. So for anyone who has a service dog, they and you are not welcome at Power's Farm Market. To the big bad security man, yes I would rather shop with service dogs then people like you. Needless to say I will never return to this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI think itās a nice place for the most part. Iāve taken kids there over the years and I appreciate the low key fun atmosphere that theyāve created. On this visit however I was turned away from the hay ride because while we had the receipt for just purchasing tickets the cashier had neglected to give us the required ātokensā. We had waited in line for a while with two younger kids so I asked the driver if he would let us on anyways. He was curt and told us that everyone āelse in line had tokensā and he ādoesnāt make the rulesā. Iām not really the kind of person that pushes back on stuff like this but Iām in a knee brace and didnāt want to have to go back inside then wait in line all over again. Plus as we were turned away my daughter started crying which as a parent is never not triggering! Seems like super basic customer service to be flexible in that situation. There's not really a sign explaining the setup and there's no way we could have guessed this. Anyways I think itās generally a nice place but given that situation I probably...
