After walking around Lowe’s to check out refrigerators, I thought to myself how much more good I would be doing for the community if I purchased from a local business.. so I went up the road to Wilson’s. Our fridge had stopped working, and I have a toddler, so clearly in need of a fridge fast. As far as the salesperson, Peter, he was great in that first interaction. I told I’m I’d pay full price, had no budget, and planned on purchasing the rest of the suite from them as well. First I wanted to see how the fridge would go. I did have my toddler with me as daycare had closed unexpectedly and he was very patient with me/friendly with the baby (I know how frustrating it can make your job to have a toddler interrupting, even a well behaved toddler). Even though it would be a week or more to receive the fridge, I decided I could make it through with a cooler until then. I decided on a Frigidaire Professional, and I paid top dollar. I didn’t even try to negotiate the price, and I paid the full $2450 including delivery (which was $40- Lowe’s is free, and $40 to remove the old fridge- Lowe’s charges $20). No follow up calls or emails to confirm a delivery date or time, or thank me for my purchase. Fast forward a week to date of delivery, which I had taken off from work to be available for, and I received no updates or phone calls with my delivery window. I waited until noon, at which point I physically drove to the store to find out what was going on as I had to plan around naps and other errands. I was frustrated (who wouldn’t be) but there seemed to be no concern that I hadn’t been contacted and I was told unapologetically I was on for 2-4 pm. I wasn’t asked if I needed anything, etc. 4 o’clock comes and goes, so I call back at 4:05. I’m told “they just loaded up and are on the way”. 4:30, no delivery yet, so I call again (because I had plans for 5:00). I’m told “whoops, they should have gone to your place first but it looks like they went farther into Peru first, so you’ll be last one the lost today.” Really? When it was made quite clear I NEEDED a fridge, I wasn’t just updating for looks. My son needs cold milk. Not only that, but they treated me as if I was a nuisance to even call and follow up. The fridge gets delivered around 5:30. I get a call from the driver that they are sorry for the delay, but their other truck broke down and they had to switch trucks. I feel bad for him and the girl that delivered it because they didn’t have the proper tools and had to carry the fridge in on their own. They were nice and it’s not their fault but this whole experience was awful. I felt as though the company has forgotten about my delivery and just kind of winged this together at the last minute. The fridge was not leveled, and I don’t know how to adjust it.... I tried... and surprise, no one ever ordered a kick-plate. Way to take an exciting delivery and kill it by sending me an incomplete fridge. The doors are completely uneven, and there was a dent in the freezer door. The delivery driver said they’d let the store know to order a kick plate and be in touch. No one ever called, or touched base, so my husband called about these items several days later and all of this was a surprise to them. They said they’d have to order a kick plate and it would be in within a few weeks.
I’m soon going to be buying a stainless steel convection oven, dishwasher, microwave, and range hood... paying cash... but it won’t be with this company. Complete lack of concern for such a big purchase. Very disappointed. I’m in sales and would never treat a customer this way. Was not worth almost $2400. I could have gotten cheaper at Lowe’s with better service. I have pictures and call logs to prove all of the statements included above. I’m a very nice and reasonable person but this was...
Read moreI had previously written a review on yelp but wanted to give a summary here for review. We ordered Kitchenaid double oven, stove top and above stovetop slim microwave at the end of August 2034. Our salesperson was Jamie. She was very helpful and accommodating at the time. The stovetop was a special order but she called the Kitchenaid rep and was told there were 5 in the warehouse and wouldn’t be a problem. Delivery date was Sept 12, 2024 so we disconnected all the appliances. Delivery truck came and the oven and microwave were brought in the house. We asked about the stovetop and it was not on truck. I ask them to phone Jamie so they did. She said she would follow up. The delivery guys were great, took all but the stovetop and my husband hooked it up again so we had something to cook on. The stovetop was delivered Sept 19, 2024 and again the delivery men were great. On September 13, 2024, my husband was unpacking the oven and microwave. The tape holding the upper door of the oven took the enamel paint off the metal. Also the microwave had a significant dent in the back corner. I emailed Jamie and sent pictures showing the outter edge of oven, which did not include the door, was the trim. Also mailed picture of the microwave dent. Jamie then emailed me indicating an oven door would be ordered and the microwave would be replaced and it was the next day. I immediately messaged Jamie that it was not the oven door that needed to be replaced, but the side trim and to please look at the pictures I had sent and resent pics. On 10/16/2024 a repairman from Wilson’s showed up with the oven door and no side trim missing the paint. A few days before someone called from the service department to schedule and my husband told her it was the side trim, she replied yes, and he gave her th measurement and she confirmed. The repairman confirmed it wasn’t the door but the side trim and he would go back and order the right part. 10/27/24- I text Jamie for an update, getting a response from her Manager, Kevin McKee indicating parts are shipped 10-14 days, but could be delayed 2 weeks. Tracking would begin 24 hours after order shipped. I then replied to Kevin this was not acceptable and since the oven was under warranty I was requesting a replacement oven. Kevin replied it was only cosmetic and didn’t warrant replacement. I find this whole process very frustrating for a customer driven business; where if they had listened to the customer I would have had the part by now. I just want to add I’ve cc in Nate Wilson on these...
Read moreWhat is wrong with this company? Raking people over the coals on extremely simple repairs. Absolutely no reason for it.
I paid $137 just for someone to come out and tell me the TIMER on my old Roper/Whitlpoop dryer is bad, which was my best guess going in to this, but I didn't have the tools to inspect anything else and make sure it was fine. But the repair guy confirmed everything else was fine.
After he left I looked up the part online and ordered it myself for $75 off of Amazon. I watched a YouTube video on how to replace the timer on this model and I just did it myself and it worked fine. Replacing the timer is super simple. Just make sure you're connecting on the cables in the right place, but the parts match, so it's not rocket science 🤦‍♂️
I was able to fix my own dryer for a $75 part 3 days after ordering off Amazon. It took Wilson's SEVEN days just to call me and tell me they have my "estimate" ready, and that they need my go ahead to ORDER the part lol. Order it?! Gee, I'm glad this wasn't urgent or anything. I mean.. who the hell needs dry clothes, right? 🤦‍♂️
They wanted $372 more for probably the same exact part I ordered plus their time estimate for the service guy. Well, it took me like 20 minutes and I had no idea what I was doing lol. And I get maybe the time estimate would go down a little bit, but still.
So overall they wanted to charge me over $400-500 for ordering one $75 part and maybe ONE hour of service in total. That's insane. A brand new dryer from Lowe's was on sale for $600! 🤦‍♂️
I can't speak on anything else this place does. I'd assume all their new appliances are wayyy overpriced and if you ask for installation it'll cost you $400 lol.
Personally, I'll use this place again. They should be ashamed because this legit feels like they're taking advantage of people for very simple repairs, as if they also don't do do enough complicated jobs to make the better money. You really need $400 from me for a TIMER replacement on a 10 year old dryer? Pfft. Get...
