I brought my parents to this location since my in-laws and myself have purchased so many products from them in the past years. Service was excellent and my parents were able to find a very nice kitchen table and seeing that they are retired and on a budget they found about a $1000 kitchen table that would last them many years. I also found a kitchen table and sectional sofa that I was intending to purchase. My parents (being conscious of their money situation and the years they would have the table were talked into buying a warranty.) I know the terms of the warranty and how it was explained since I was with them when they bought their furniture. Any surface damage to the top of the table this warranty would cover any scratches were covered any dings or dents were covered any fading was covered. As you can see we were told everything that would happen to the table was covered by purchasing this extended warranty . Fast forward a couple months and there were indeed scratches on the table so using the information Old Brick had given them they set out to get their table fixed via the warranty. The woman they called was rude to them several all times. They have been given the run around. A person was sent to their house to assess the table and he said there were to many scratches on the table and the warrenty only covers one. Then my geriatric mother called all upset and they decided to send her a new table top. The table top gets to their house, the guys unwrap it and guess what? Is full of scratches, worse than their prior table top. So the man turns to my parents and I and says " oh well, I guess you guys know the drill, you will have to call and have them come assess this table top and see if you can get a new one. ARE YOU KIDDING ME.!!!!! Please if you want buy something from them don't get the warrenty, don't let them hackel senior citizens. The table top gets scratched from just putting a plate on it. My parents have antiques all over their house that are over 100 years old, the damage to this table was not from misuse. We are currently talking with the better business bureau due to this incident. Robbing seniors and verbally mistreating them is a serious allegation and will not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really had a wonderful experience working with Dave at the Schenectady Old Brick Furniture store. He was way more attentive, personable, and knowledgeable than the person we worked with at Raymore & Flannagan the day before. My partner didn't like the vibe of R&F so much, because it felt like we were being rushed into a used car sales pitch, that he decided to skip the trip to Old Brick the following day. In truth, Old Brick was the polar opposite experience, and Dave gave me the breathing room I needed to make an informed decision about my new mattress.
Upon entering Old Brick, Dave introduced himself and told me that I could browse and test the mattresses on my own. He also said that he'd be nearby if I needed help and then checked in with me after a couple mins. He asked if I'd like to try this mattress technology thing, to which I said, "oooo -- you had me at technology", and he walked me over. I laid down on a bed with a TV facing downward as he started the program. It scanned my sleep position with these rollers under my back, then it had me lay on my side. When the scan was complete, it knew that I was a "Blue dot" semi-firm mattress sleeper. And being I usually prefer semi-firm mattresses, I was impressed.
Then Dave walked me through a variety of "blue dot" mattresses and had me test them. He commented on whether he felt any particular mattress looked comfortable or not. I think I tested every blue mattress there, but with his guidance I settled on an Old Brick hybrid mattress. It borrows a number of incredible features from other mattresses such as cooling gel, a large number of springs, several layers of memory foam, etc, but for less than half the price of the major brands. It was delivered the following day, and the delivery guys took the old mattress away for me.
Overall, the experience of picking a mattress out was very pleasant and informative with Old Brick. Dave guided me through the various options, explained the features in layman's terms, and I didn't feel pressured. I'm very impressed with this business and we both absolutely LOVE our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReviewed this company 10 years ago giving 5 stars. My original purchase was a living room set including couches and end tables. Over these past 10 years I have purchased another complete bedroom set and a few dressers. I recently purchased another 3 mattress along with another bedroom set. Well I will say this the mattress I received is nothing like what I ordered. Tried to return the item for a different mattress 1 day after receiving it and still am dealing with this as they are not helpful. The night stand had 1 drawer so out of square that it stuck out over 3/8" on one side when fully closed and rocked over an inch back and forth on level ground. I spoke to customer care immediately on this as well and was assured that I would have a replacement first thing Monday. On Monday a call was made and no record was found. I will note Tuesday I had a replacement. The support for the dresser is missing the entire height adjuster including the nut. And the bed came with the entire wrong support legs. This has been explained 3 times and we still have not received the correct ones. Although I still have the incorrect ones. *Edit. So as stated before I received our replacement vanity by Tuesday and this was just a manufacturing defect. The biggest part of the bed legs was MY mistake. The legs were correct height after placing the box springs on them to correct the bow. The mattress is a work in progress but being handled very well. I was wrong to fly off as I did because its clear that they really value the customer and still hold those small buisness values. Thank you to everyone at old brick...David in sales(Truly an allstar). Justin,Kelly and Tricia in Saratoga warehouse. Hank (Manager of Rotterdam store) They all helped to get me straightened out and I look forward to many years of purchases from...
