Friendly staff. Parking lot is potholes and chaotic. Not enough carts/no baskets. Limited/often missing stock/variety compared with other Top's in locale. Store is dirty. Employee hygiene is negligible. Some employees aren't the brightest crayon in the box. Prices are waaayyy TOO EXPENSIVE compared with competitors in locale. Produce is often rotten, not ripe enough, over-ripened, bruised, past best by dates, moldy or has fruit flies. Shelves often out of stock or past use by dates. Store smells like rotten produce as you enter/exit..and immediately outside door/in entire parking lot it smells of cheap smokes. People dealing drugs, begging for cash, using drugs, blaring music, loitering and/or smoking near entryway, throughout lot and/or in store. Store has issues with shoplifting and robbery (armed and unarmed) mainly in later store hours and now employe a security guard with stun gun and flat vest at entrance/exit/cashier area/customer service area in result. Many customers are rude, boisterous and/or belligerent to staff and other consumers. Bakery has nothing fresh other than donuts, bread and box cake/cupcakes/cake parfaits. Meat and fish variety is non-existent... Extremely hard to find lean cuts and roasts... No lamb, veal, goat, duck, rabbit, venison, Cornish hens, pheasant, Foix gras, good steak cuts, dry aging, variety of sausage, poultry substitutes for red meat, very limited deli cuts/cheeses, no locatelli romano cheese, no vegetarian chili, only one brand of veg. Burger/chick'n', very scarce other vegan/veg options, no lentil soup, no grain variety (ie: Quinoa, barley, options for wild/colored rices/grain lengths, couscous, polenta, muesli, very limited granola selection), lack of gluten free options, only yogurt(no skyr, kefir, veg/vegan yogurt, Quark, etc.) no veg/vegan/lactose free dairy variety, no cream of rice, no nature friendly/chem. free cereal options, no g.f. baking supplies, no dark maple syrup, no honey with comb, no rum raisin Hagen das, limited beer selection, no bison, no fresh seafood, lack of variety of cheese (no bourgogne/limited goat and Brie), only 85% lean or lower ground beef, no vegan/veg. butter/ice cream/cream cheese, no fresh refrigerated pasta/pizza/pizza dough/etc. Food stamps pricing is often less than bill receipt total but register cashed out entire bill despite discrepancy in customer favor? No free bags or boxes... Paper bags overpriced. Not allowed to pay for paper bags if you have no cash with take a penny/leave a penny change. Cashier's expect you to unload to register, bag, load to cart and pay order quickly and entirely without any help from staff as to bagging and cart reloading. Not a safe place to bring children, disabled, elderly etc. Nor to leave anything of even little to no value unattended for a single moment. No small carts for small purchases/physically meal persons. Takes over a month for restock and/or requested stock (from customer by management) to come into store and they will not call you when it arrives despite saying they will and taking your phone #. No variety of energy drinks without carbonation. Complete lack of high end/epicurean/healthy food options aside from limited produce, meats and dairy. No natural/eco-friendly, low chem/chem free, hypoallergenic or veg/vegan cosmetics or cleaning detergents etc.When asking for an employee to answer a question regarding stock/ordering they usually refer to management, ask you to stay still while they track down the management, take at least 10 minutes to come back if at all, and then management comes over after about 5 more minutes (15 min. total) just to say there is no stock and/product on backorder (whether it truly is or not...I have seen other stores receive new stock of same products despite management claims) so they will order it and let you know via phone when it is there though it should be there in a few days when next delivery comes: only to not call and take over a month to restock/claim order if it comes at all. Go anywhere else if you can...This place isn't up to the...

Definitely pricey here. Not the cleanest or even the safest location. There are plenty of other businesses here, even a bank and a BK. Inside there are plenty of food items to choose from. The bakery overcharges for most items. But they have thr birthday candles and cards for about every occasion. The bathrooms are dirty and interior of the store is dated, floors look dirty, mud carpets show a lot of ware from the heavy traffic as this store feeds a lot of people in the shop city area. Registers scanners can stick when using cards. The service was good here. It's an older building. It's a better atmosphere at the Tops location in North Syracuse. Plays to a different demographic. But I am personally grateful for Tops having a location here for the citizens in that community. The panhandlers can be an issue, but not overwhelming as yet. I gave 4 stars because of the good service and this location feeds...

Will never shop there again. There was a family of 4 with teenage children walking around with no mask. Even though there is a sign at the doors and repeated announcements on the P.A. refering to the mask and social distancing directive put into effect by the Governor. The worst part was the teens were coughing into their hands or not covering at all, then handling fruits and and candy. When I pointed this out to a store employee I was told there was nothing they could do. Sorry, I have seen people stopped at Wegmans for not wearing masks so I know better than to believe the "nothing they could do" B.S. Left the store and won't ever go...
