I've been coming here since we've lived in Sodus. This was the hardware store we would always come to first. Roughly two weeks ago I went there with my son to get four bolts and four nuts. I bagged them up and wrote the price and quantity on the bag. I went to the register and the kid that was running the register asked me if there really was four of each in the bag. I told him yes and he asked again. Again I said yes and he gave me a funny look. He dumped the four bolts and four nuts on the counter. Counted each one and said ok. I understand that it is their right to do so but to be questioned twice the way he did was incredibly rude. Never once have I been accused of stealing at any hardware store. Read moreUpdate: I was frankly frightened when I knew Phil was selling out but Michelle, Jeff and their son are doing a great job. Plumbing emergencies- no sweat. Hardware items- increasing inventory. Why would anyone drive to Webster when we have a great service right here? Local business needs community support particularly when they deserve it. And they do.
Never thought to write a review because, well, I go there weekly and it is just always there. This is a staple of the community and the type of business that is an essential to the local economy.
Very helpful team who go the extra mile to help. Prices a bit more than the big boxes but there are staff to find what you need instantly and the price of gas to save a few pennies or bucks is not worth driving to Webster or further.
