Niagara Traditions has been my go-to brewing supply store since before they moved from their Niagara Falls location, however many years that's been. The Dyster family are super nice people, and avid brewers themselves, so they're very knowledgeable, and know to stock good quality stuff. They have a good grain selection, and can grind it for you, or you can get malt extract (dry or canned), there are other fermentables as well. They have a great selection of hops, mostly pellets, but some leaf, and all stored in refrigeration. Likewise, they have both freeze-dried and liquid yeasts, and all the additives and flavorings that you might want. (And if they don't, they can probably order it for you.). There are also supplies for winemaking, distilling, and cheese making!
There are also all manner of fermenters, bottles, caps, and kegging system gear. They really are a full-service store in terms of what they cover and stock.
One point of note: the store is located on the divided section of Sheridan Drive, so if you leave on that road you can only go west. It's possible to get out on Military Road by driving through the parking lot of the gas station, but it's right by the intersection, and can be tricky if there's...
Read moreI have only been home brewing for a few months but I have had enough interactions with the staff at NT to feel confident in my review. I have had dealings with just about everyone on the staff and they all have been very knowledgeable and more than willing to take as much time as needed to answer all questions I throw at them no matter how "silly" it may be. They will walk you through the process showing you what you need at each step and asking you questions to get a feel for what kind of beer you are looking to make to ensure you are ready for what you will be seeing. The store can be a bit cramped if its busy but that's more a testament to the amount of items/ingredients that they have on hand than it is an indictment of the shopping experience. In short I cannot recommend Niagara Traditions Homebrew Supply highly enough. If you are thinking about getting into homebrewing this is the store you should be...
Read moreIf you are looking to make Beer, or even Wine for that matter and need some supplies/ ingredients, this is the place to go.
I recently started brewing some beer on my own. Being that I do a lot of shopping online I figured I would get some stuff shipped over to me. Unfortunately there is not much to be had in terms of deals, because the stuff is heavy and therefore expensive to ship. While searching I did come across this place and figured I'd stop in to check it out.
Definitely glad I did, they have just about everything you need to brew. Prices are comparable to online shops as well. They also have their own recipe kits for new brewers like myself who want to get started with some easy to follow instructions and ingredients all there for you. Staff was helpful in finding what I was looking for too. When I am ready for my next batch, this is where I'll be heading to get...
