I have a fever and am feeling unwell and already scheduled an appt for today for something else so I called to tell them I’m not feeling well. They said since I have a fever, I couldn’t come in person so they changed my appt from an office visit to a virtual visit with same date, time & provider. I got the link for the telehealth visit via text when it was time for my appt and when I signed on, it was showing the provider was offline. About 15min into my appt and waiting in the virtual waiting room, I figured I should call to see if the dr even knows it was changed to virtual. The hold time to speak to a receptionist is a joke but I was able to bypass it the first time so I got someone (probably not even from the Ellenville office) & explained I was waiting for my appt and asked if she could message the dr to let her know. She says she’ll message the dr but here I am 45min later with no call from the dr. I called back and am waiting in queue of 21 ppl before me which has so far been 21 min. The wait time to speak to a receptionist was never like this until COVID hit. It’s such a disservice to ppl who are sick and not feeling well or just ppl who need to be seen in general. No one should have to wait over 30min to finally be able to speak to someone. It’s beyond ridiculous! I understand if they have busy days or times of the day but this is every time you call them! How can a medical center who claims they specialize in patient care/treatment be that busy every time they’re open and not have full staff available to answer calls?! And why wouldn’t the provider check her messages to see what happened to her 2:15 appt? Why would she just write me off...
Read moreI was a once every month patient for 10 years at Ellenville family health. unfortunately all the good doctor's quit the practice leaving a poor staff. I was "dismissed" from family practice for voicing my concerns about constant prescription errors causing me to be without my medication for a total of 10 day's within the last four months that I was a patient there, I am not supposed to go one day without my medication. while I was discussing this situation with my doctor another doctor Dr "JA" whom I never met before entered the room and simply told me to leave and don't come back. I tried contacting the main headquarters office in new paltz NY on this matter to no avail . they never provided my health records to me so I could present them to a new doctor or offered any assistance in anyway. just abandonment.
I see the reply you left for me and did indeed call The institute of Family health in both New Paltz and in New York City with no avail . so thank you for your reply Megan but there's nothing The institute of Family health is willing to do to rectify...
Read moreIf you want a Doctor like doctor Patel who cares for her own well being and medical license, rather then stand by her hippocratic oath and make life change decisions by the stroke of a pen this is a doctor who prefers herself preservation over others which is fine in my book, but you should not be a doctor or does the ellenville family health institute deserve your health insurance for employing doctors like this it makes sense why the good doctors do not stick around this place. I paraphrase this. I am jeopardizing my license by writing a prescription for you. but it works both ways my health insurance pays your paycheck. Dont forget it takes patients at your facility with health insurance for you to be employed and you just lost a good patient with good health insurance. Maybe there is a good doctor left there with a heart but I doubt it. Not every patient is there just to take medicine for fun. Some people take medicine cause they really need it. One other thing to add do not make my mistake and think a primary care physician knows anything about...
