China House — Restaurant in Town of Wawarsing

I was skeptical of this place from the reviews, so I had to share mine. Chinese places really can't be rated on the same scale as other restaurants, but versus each other. This was shockingly hands down some of the best Chinese I've had north of the city. It's easy to assume they all use the same exact suppliers, but this place had different and unique items. The spring rolls were the best I've ever had anywhere. The crab rangoons were star shaped, not the triangles. Everything was fried to crispy perfection. All of the stir-fry's were well portioned and mixed and had great flavor. They didn't forget any items, which seems to happen at almost every Chinese restaurant these days. It was ready quickly, it was hot, it was packed neatly in a box instead of a bag so I could see everything was there. A lot of these reviews mention how rude they are, but I did not find that to be the case at all. Both the woman at the front and the cook said hello and thanked me. Not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from or if they merely stepped up their game, but they deserve 5 stars. Top notch...

Worst food I've ever had!!! Avoid this place.

Ordered sesame chicken diner special because I love the steamed broccoli it comes with. The egg roll had almost no filling and was actually flat due to lack of filling. It was SO GREASY! There was a tablespoon of grease in the bottom of the bag. Really! There was only one piece of broccoli and it was under the chicken. It was frozen and heated by the warm chicken. I use the term chicken loosely, as it was breading with chicken in there somewhere. The sauce was overly sweet. The fried rice has only a few peas in it, no other vegs.

Also, this was the first restaurant I've even been in, including fast food places, where I could not get a glass of tap water. And the first Chinese restaurant that didn't have free hot tea or give me a fortune cookie.

Bad food, no service. Do yourself a favor and find another place. Actually, any other place to eat. Go down the street McDonald's you'll get much...

This was my first time ordering from here and it was absolutely terrible. The wife had a bad attitude over the phone while I was ordering (mind you I was nice and respectful the whole time). I called again because I forgot to ask them to call me when the food was done and the husband picked up who also seemed rude but when I went in, I realized that’s just how he speaks in general. When my boyfriend and I went to pick it up, they left something off my order that I KNOW I mentioned. Then the wife had the nerve to argue with me and her husband saying that I never ordered crab sticks. So I just paid for what I got and left. Bad first impression....
