*DO NOT SHOP AT TRUMBULL BEST BUY SCAMMERS, THEY SELL USED, BROKEN PRODUCTS I'm gonna make this a long story short. A few weeks ago I purchased a Samsung 55" 4k smart tv, their biggest soundbar, subwoofer and then rear sorroun d sound speakers online and picked up in orange for my bedroom.i also bought a ps4 and some games, a headset etc. Everything went smoothly there and I was so happy i decided to buy the same for my mother before moving out of the house because I love her and I thought it'd be a great thing to do. I decided on an LG 55" 4k smart Tv, the same soundbar and speakers as before. But this time pickup in trumbull. In the store I assisted 2 customers before the sales people even acknowledged them. I waited 30 minutes for them to bring the tv and soundbar to the front and once up front I asked them to let me put it in my car and that I'll be right back to buy my mom rear speakers. The list price for the rear was 119 and on my invoice i was charged 190...but let me get to the biggest part of this. Shot only did they move the tv and bring it out in a sloppy non factory sealed package for me. We went home and set it up very carefully and only to see there was prior fingerprints all over this thing. It wasn't even the same TV as on the Box! It was cracked and useless and 1 years old! Wasn't 4k it had non matching serial numbers and non matching feet to stand. They had sold us a lying piece of junk that didn't work. I panicked a little because I know how places act about damaged goods but we didn't even touch the screen. It was riddled with other people's prints. Non factory sealed, they eagerly pushed this product on us like they knew. We were back in 30 minutes and nobody held a door or offered to help in any way. We go to the customer service and one associate ensure we'd be ok and leave with a new working tv. Only for inspection they too saw the terrible quality, the non matching serial, and the fact it's a different t.v. and tried to force us to keep it... They insisted we tried to steal from them, one of them called us crackheads, I was so very civil with them and serious too. I said please look at the cameras, check the situation, the fact we were promised to leave with a working device. I said how I had already spent 2,000 last week on new tv and devices and that I loved the stuff and I'm a valuable customer who planned on buying more and they were outright rude. Stealing my mobey, doing nothing of it. We wasted hours of our day anticipating this tv and for me to buy this gift for her. Our family had spent over 5,000 there and never returned a thing. This was the first time at trumbull and they are a spittle stain on the company. They called the cops on us once I said I refused to leave until we investigate the cameras and to understand it wasn't factory sealed. They had police escort us out and ruined our day and nothing came of it. I had to call corporate, customer service to file complaints, an investigation and I even ordered Another TV just for the fact i was determined to get this for my mom. Wouldn't that say something I would drop another 500 to get what I want. The customer service was very nice on the phone and is going to try and work with us on a return but even then who knows how it will turn out. It was a heartache for us all. They made comments on how we looked, used their power and said we look like we've been drinking etc. And no way! We have wonderful credit and relationships with all of our merchants and they were the worst staff I've dealt with. I believe they're doing this inside and an employee made the swap because of how THEY acted. There's so much I want to do about this and it'll all be settled if they just apologize and fix it. Even though I want this to be known for all who go there. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. And when they did their final escort I let the people walking in know. Do not shop here. I have no problem with orange or Norwalk but stay away from trumbull. I did a better job selling a soundbar and speakers to a customer...
Read moreProduct was fine.. customer service⦠horrible. We came in looking for a sound bar to the Trumbull location, and it was about 6:30pm at night. The customer service was awful. I've been here during the day when 10 associates are asking you if you need help. But this time.... we stood in the sound bar section for 15 mins and not 1 person came to see if we needed help. One guy finally came over and asked if we needed assistance. We told him we are looking for a specific size sound bar and were not sure what the best quality was since we don't have one yet. He recommended a Samsung brand (since our TV is Samsung) and to get one with a subwoofer that comes with it for the space that we have and I even showed him a photo our tv set up. We have a small 1 bedroom apartment. He recommended mounting the bar to the wall above the tv since our set up is small and said that would be our only option. He pointed to a box across the room and said he would recommend that one and then walked away. I was shocked that he didn't attempt to show us any sound bars, or attempt to figure out any other scenarios for our space. We never saw him again. I didn't really want to purchase a sound bar without hearing it first so we went to look for the one he recommended on the shelf which we thought we found. It turned out the one in the box the assosciate pointed too was NOT the one on the display even though the signs said it was. We went back to the soundbar area for more assistance, and after getting annoyed and standing in the area for again 15 mins... I asked one of the kids for help who was hanging out by the back door by security person who turned out to be a guy wearing a geek squad shirt. They were laughing and having a good time so I asked the one standing at the table to help me. I told him which bar i wanted.. but and then he walked away. We watched him walk all over the store.. around and around. and never looked back at us once. around again. and again. I was soo confused because he didnt say anything or let me know that he was looking for it or what? for all i knew - he was helping someone else at this point. He walked over to his Geek Squad/security?? buddie for help. They walked around and around the floor. Even the geek squad guy he had helping him walked right past us didn't say a word. We were about to leave, then they went out the top entrance of Best Buy that connects to the mall. The kid comes back with a box and smiles and says here you go i found it. 20 mins had passed. I told him thank you. We ended up purchasing the bar but I was def concerned since I never actually got to listen to the quality. I am just shocked at the difference between being in there during the day vs at night. We made eye contact with multiple associates walking out and still nobody said anything or asked if we found everything ok. I was hoping to go there for some education on soundbars and maybe even be shown one or 2 but nope. I grew up in this town and have purchased multiple things here and never had a problem but this time was not a good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've had positive interactions with the folks at BBY Norwalk, CT, and Okemos, MI, during the pandemic. They genuinely appreciated the business as well as the in-person exchange.
My experience with two specific employees at the Trumball, CT, store recently was the exact opposite. I left the store feeling as if I did something wrong and that I was an inconvenience to those folks.
After saving up for several months, I ordered a brand new laptop for in-store pick up because I did not want it to go through the possible bumps and bruises during shipping.
I waited in line patiently for 15+ mins for somebody to finally come to assist me and the elderly lady in front of me. This is totally fine because of short staffing to account for the slower foot traffic during this unusual time.
When it's finally my turn, I stepped up enthusiastically like a kid who's about to get his new toy. The BBY employee scanned my receipt and went off to grab the laptop.
After she got back, the check out process continued normally until she DROPPED the laptop behind the register! She was half dangling it off the counter while processing the checkout and not holding it securely because of what appeared to be concerns for her nails.
She picked up the laptop off the floor and proceeded to hand it to me, business as usual. Her statement of "our store has cushioned floor" was her attempt to normalize the situation and reassure me that everything was fine.
Really? I would have thought that it's a basic courtesy to offer the customer with the option to grab another one in the store's inventory.
I spoke up and asked her to check for another one in stock. She grudgingly obliged, dragged her feet towards the PC section for an exchange, and gave me the "look".
Minutes passed and she came back. This time another employee / manager, with the build of a bar bouncer holding the "other" laptop in his hands, joined her. They walked passed me as if I didn't exist, placed the product on the counter, telling me that I'm good to go while walking away like a WR making a back shoulder catch. No offer to double check the product, no eye contact, no apologies for the inconvenience. What there was plenty of was INTIMIDATION. As if they dared me to speak up again.
No sir, no ma'am. This is not an acceptable behavior and this is no way to treat anyone.
If you drop my brand new laptop that I paid for with hard earned money, go grab another one on the double. No apologies needed but...
Please do not intimidate me.
Please do not be rude.
Please just do...
