V Nails & Spa — Local services in Tuckahoe

I have been going to this establishment for approximately 2-3 months now; I'm fairly new to the area. Jennifer, the managers wife, is the only tech that has serviced me since that time. I typically go every 2-3 weeks, however, this past Thursday, October 20th, unfortunately, my GPS took me to Forest Hill Ave., instead of Forest Avenue. I immediately called the shop and the manager answered. I explained that I was lost and that it would take me another 18 minutes to get there. In the background, he was explaining to his wife, Jennifer, what happened. He then came back to the phone and stated that 'Jennifer said ,can you come tomorrow' (which was Friday the 21st). I told them Yes.

On Friday, I left work a tad bit early to assure I was on time. My appointment, I'm assuming, was still for 5:30, like the day before, because Jennifer knows I don't get off work until 5pm. I arrived about 20min early, around 5:10, and she was giving someone a pedi. I didn't think anything about it because I was early. However, after about 10 min, I asked her husband if I could at least begin soaking 'the dip polish off', since it typically takes 10-15 min. He said he'd get me set up in a few minutes. He was doing someone's nails. After about 5 minutes, he called me to one of the tables, and had me put my hand in the bowl /bag with the remover. After about 10-15min he checked my nails and said about 2 more minutes. I then looked up, and now Jackie is about to give a manicure....by then I'm thinking 'what the heck'???? She's the one that 'told me to come back the next day', now I'm being ignored??? Her husband came back and took my nails out the bowl, and I'm left sitting there. I look up and it's about 5:45pm, 15 minutes past my appointment. I could feel the anger building up, so I simply told her husband, the manager, that I'd just come back. He then said 'I do your nails in a few minutes'. He was polishing a young ladies nails. I sat there thinking about it for a few minutes, however, felt very disrespected. In my opinion Jennifer was EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL, and I was beyond disappointed at her treatment towards me. To ask a 'regular client' to come back then not service them, smh! I told her husband, as I got up to walk out, that I was going to go, and 'if she knew she didn't have time to do my nails, why did she tell me to come back today, and that I could have came back Saturday OR another day'! Also, she never even bothered to come over to me and say anything, not even an apology! He tried to get me to wait, then naturally they start speaking in their language. I have tipped Jennifer WELL, every single time and to be ignored and treated in this manner...TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL and I expected better from her. She's shared conversation with me about her husband, her kids, etc. and then to disrespect me like this...she just lost a great customer. I refuse to give me money to someone who disrespects me, and that treatment was simply...

I wanted to like it here. My friend and I arrived at about 6PM today. The sign has 8pm as the closing time. We both got pedicures, the $48 one specifically. And we both tipped $10+ Right before 7:00 they tell us we can’t put our socks and shoes on because we got traditional polish. They tell us we need to let our nails dry for 15-30 minute. So we continues to sit in the chairs and wait. A few minutes went by and they said we could go up front but repeated we couldn’t put our shoes on yet. So we were waiting 15-20 minutes for it to dry before we left. It’s cold outside so leaving without them being dry didn’t seem like a good idea. Unfortunately, one woman decided to stand up front and sigh while the other put on her winter jacket. We were essentially kicked out in the flimsy sandal foam things. They locked the door immediately behind us at about 7:15.

I wish they’d have been kinder about it at the very least. The pedicure itself was pretty good but I will likely not be going back due to being pushed out and hour...

Bad bad experience with Mimi Mimi has a very mean spirit. This is not the first time I had a bad experience with Mimi. She gets very agitated if you ask a questions certain things she wants to do her way she doesn't try to accommodate you . She didn't want to put another coat on my hands so she had my hand all the way down in the dip. I had dip on my clothes everywhere it was just sloppy work. I also have fungus on my feet and toes that's why I didn't get a pedicure on yesterday from Mimi. Been going to the doctor I will show you a picture of my toes. Mimi do not take responsibility for anything she does. Seems like she treats her customers different especially Africa America I have seen her do my pedicure and then shake the towel and put back in the drawer She needs to be careful people are not going to accept that bad behavior.
