The Purple Penguin is absolutely magical. It should easily be one of the 7 wonders of Tucson, it is 100% a hidden gem and in every sense of the word. It’s amazing.
Dino (the owner) is a fantastic owner and his knowledge of candy goes above and beyond what I would have imagined.
If you can’t find a treat in here then you don’t like treats. This place has EVERYTHING and that isn’t an exaggeration. Everything. Even Candy from before time itself to now and everything in between.
The candy emporium also has a TON of drinks to chose from… soooo many to choose from. Old drinks. New drinks.
I would honestly plan to be here for 15-30 mins. You might lose an hour… This place is for children and adults of all ages.
It’s open daily and you’re always greeted with a smile and a good time.
Prices are insanely low and I’ve found myself spending a lot of money and it’s 100% worth it.
Check out the floor piano like from the movie BIG.
Dino is always super helpful if your unsure about what to get and always recommends things based on your preferences and he’s great with kids old and young.
Stop ready this and head into the...
Read moreToday was my first time ever trying Purple Penguin Candy Emporium, and let me tell you, THIS PLACE is awesome! I happened to bump into it after having launch down the street. Everything from the esthetics to the almost overwhelming selection of candy and soda had my jaw dropped. The owner was knowledgeable and friendly, you could tell he had a passion for the history and all around industry of candy. I bought a Black Cow, for the first time as it was a candy I'd never heard of before. it was basically a tootsie roll with added rich flavor of caramel. for those that don't know Tootsie Rolls are fudge flavored taffies. I was also able to buy a Harry Potter Chocolate Frog and try that today as well. I've heard of them but have never seen them in the wild. I cant wait to come back and take more time to look around as i was kind of in a rush to get back home. When i do find my way back here I'll have to try some more taffy, and also get my hands on a few of the vast...
Read moreAn absolutely delightful diversion to the Monday thru Friday grind. The impressive selection of products was a trip down memory lane. The atmosphere is equally overwhelming, but what really compliments the visit is the owners positive and welcoming attitude. My grandkids were treated as if they were the only reason the store was in business. This is a must see local hidden treasure that should be taken in. The Purple Penguin Candy Emporium isn't just a destination, it's an experience. It's best shared with the children in your life, no matter thier ages.
The store owner has customer satisfaction down to an art form.
I would without any hesitation recommend visiting this establishment.
