We have come to Tucson every February for the last 34 years. For the last 8 to 10 years we have eaten here and with the except for one small issue a few years ago, it has been excellent. It's one of our favorite places to eat in Tucson and have recommended it to many friends.
However, I will not recommend this place to anyone again.
We ordered, then a few minutes later 2 other tables ordered. 38 minutes later, the other tables had been served but we had not. I flagged down the waiter and asked him where our meals were. His reply was "We ran out of garlic so we can't make your order.
I saw that 3 people who had ordered after us had the item we had ordered.
The waiter did not even make any suggestion as to a different meal, only that they could not make what we had ordered. And he was mater of fact, not apologetic at all. Very poor customer service.
I know that my 4 to 8 meals each year are not going to make or break the restaurant, but when I started telling my friends about my experience, they have all said that they will not be going back either. So at the end of the year this may cost Mariscos Chihuahua well...

A business client invited me for lunch there once, again; the food was sub par and wait staff was barely present. On top of that, the food is more expensive and has less quality than other similar establishments in Tucson. This past experience, they got my order wrong three times. They also messed up the bill and took over 20 minutes to fix it. An hour planned business lunch turned into an hour and forty five minutes with no acknowledgement or apology from the staff. My advice would be to spend your money...
Read moreOur first seafood Mexican food experience in Tucson and we were blown away! Marisco's is small, a bit worn out, not greatest area of town and in need of a facelift but all the magic is happening in the kitchen! We had the Camarones Rellenos, little morsels of heaven wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cheese! They were the perfect appetizer! Hubby had the Camarones Culichi, a mild dish loaded with cheese and tender perfectly cooked shrimp. I had the Pescado Frito Entero, a fish fried in heaven!! The tender, flaky fish was cut perfectly, seasoned well and presented nicely. Everything was cooked to perfection and wonderfully seasoned. Our server was the sweetest gal, very attentive and kind, we will...
