This is a different kind of massage than you'll find anywhere else, and I loved it. I will be going back to fill up my punch card (10th one is free!).
It is full-body and deep-tissue to the max, very pointed, localized, etc. It's not just a foot massage, and it's not just reflexology. I want to call it 'aggressive' but if you know what to expect when you arrive, it's not quite to that level. I may try to remember to stretch before going next time.
In the past, massages have left me slightly wanting for more pressure, more localized work on my shoulder blade area, and more . I've use the 'I'm not going to break' line so many times, and still I got the basic massage. This time was different, and it's what I've been asking for for years! And so inexpensive! $30 for an hour!
The Nitty Gritty: the massage area is one large dark room with comfy chairs facing mirrors. Like another reviewer said, it's similar to the feel of a nail salon, but dark and very relaxing. I felt like I was alone save for the occasional massage noises from around me. I keep my eyes closed for relaxation anyway. Another repeat from another review: do wear a very loose top and comfy shorts. It was easy for him to move my shirt in a comfortable and discreet way that made my back accessible for that part of the massage. Drink lots of water after to flush out everything that gets squeezed out of your muscles! I did and I...
Read moreDifferent, very very different but very good! you just have to suspend what you know and or what you have had before. its not that at all! I have had 1000s of massages of every sort: Four Seasons to the beach of Mexico, this is just Different. ok so now you are over the "oh its different" and on to the massage. Mike did a great job, little weird/and again different but a great job. The room is large and dark and there are around 20 chair tables in there. Think of a nail salon but its massages! overall its very quiet, some talking not much, slapping of the massage end, and just get over that. I do wish they had done more foot and more reflexology vs normal massage of the feet, but it was still very good. Luckily a friend had been and told me the set up and what to wear and to expect, so no surprises and all was good. FOR SURE: wear very loose fitting shirt, oversized not exercise tight. vneck and short sleeved worked very well so they could do a good massage. on ladies they will just pull you shirt up in back so dont' wear a bra (you can change in the bathroom) and you just roll your pants to the knees like a pedicure but you don't want long sleeved nor tight shirts. there was some yoga style stretching, probably could do without that. but it lasted a FULL 60 minutes and I really appreciate that. and the price, Love it. I would for sure do it again if...
Read moreIt's a full body massage. It's a very good deal. Everyone is in the same room, and the masseuse helps keep you modest and comfortable. I've taken several friends and family members over the years. Ladies, wear shorts you can pull up to your hip crease and wear a baggy shirt and probably no bra. When you lay face down, the masseuse can just pull the shirt up to access your back. If you do wear a bra they'll unsnap it for you and resnap it together after. I would not recommend wearing tight fitting clothes, as then they're going to have to massage on top of your clothes and they can't use the lotion. The masseuses speak little English, so communicating can be a challenge, so its just easier to wear the right outfit. They have an ATM there, and I have been asked to pay in cash the last couple of times I have been there. The last time I went (2 weeks ago), I asked if I could pay with a card and the gentleman at the desk said that there was a fee for using a card and that the next time I should bring cash. So I...
