First of all getting into the parking lot was a pain!! Sign on door said Flash sale this weekend. I was there on a Friday and the sign was up. I walked in the retail was mostly shoes and survival gear. Big display of camping gear but only a small section of climbing hardware. I was looking for specific hardware. THEY DID NOT HAVE WHAT I wanted. They had a few things that would do the same job. I had one staff member push me out of the way of shopping so he could melt the end of the rope he was working with. When I get to the register I over the staff member being rude and short with over customers. When it was my turn to check out the staff member demanded my name only after I asked why he needed my name did let me know it was incase of safety recalls. Since I didn't find what I was looking for I asked the staff member. His reply was he didn't that kind of hardware he would know what they carried. I had to ask him to ask another staff member that would know. That staff member tried to sell me an item that was 3 time the amount and not even close to what I was asking for. Then when I get checked out I get told that the sale is the next day. Then get told it says weekend that means Saturday and Sunday only no where on the sign did it say that. I get that weekend doesn't mean Fridays to some people but at least let customers know that when you put up a flash sale. The staff seems to have no knowledge of there products and being a specialty shop that is sad. I do not recommend anyone climbing at this location. Where I grew up rock climbing and repelling is a year round sport and very common. If a shop there acted like this they would not be in business for very long. Needless to say I walked out with out...

I always take my climbing shoes with me when I travel and look for an opportunity to visit the local rock gym. This past week I was in Tulsa and had the opportunity to visit Climb Tulsa. I generally focus on bouldering and climb in the V2-4 range in most gyms. I found climb Tulsa to be clean and well laid out wit the walls on the lower level and bouldering on the second level. The bouldering space used single color holds on the problems which I prefer and had good spacing where the holds from other problems were generally not in the way. I feel that their ratings were in line with my expectations. The good: Loved the creativity in the problems, there were quite a few that I worked that I really needed to think about to work through the beta. I also got a friendly vibe from most other climbers and ended up working together with 1 or 2 people on a few projects. There was also a large group of regulars who were working the new set, they were not very inclusive of me as an outsider but it was good to see the diverse age and skill levels that were hanging out and working together if you are looking for your regular gym. The opportunities: Hard to address given space constraints but I did not feel comfortable on many climbs because the space between the walls was not a lot and people were hanging out in the middle area a little too close to my potential fall zone. Overall a very good gym and I would definitely go back next time I...

Overall, the climbing amenities are good. If you have a friend or someone to climb with you ALREADY know, then you’ll be good. Otherwise, do not expect friendly people or to make any friends whatsoever. The entire staff and most of the regulars are very much in a clique, they will actually avoid you if at all possible. There are literally two dudes who are brothers and almost twins and they are the coolest guys there, genuinely friendly guys. Everybody else will look at you as if you do not belong if you didn’t bring your own friend group. Overall, do not expect real friendliness, expect the smile at your face while you are paying for membership and then everyday from then on it is very :| . I can name and point out several people whom after several times trying to simply be friendly to them they go out of their way to avoid me. In conclusion, if you already have someone to climb with this place is ok. I highly recommend to check out Avery Drive and the local spots over this place any day. Even then, the locals at all the crags will look at you funny simply because they’ve never seen you before as if that’s not how everyone started at some point. Very unaccepting people in this area. Coming from Oregon and Utah, this place is a joke. Wishing for another gym to open up in the area. Kind of a lame place to hold the ‘monopoly’...

A truly excellent climbing gym. Great route setting and options for bouldering, top rope, and sport. (No top outs in the boulder area). The gym has a section of short top ropes upstairs with rocktopia walls that they’ve done a fantastic job setting crack routes in. If you’re hoping to practice jamming, you’ve got several really cool options upstairs that climb similar to some conglomerate or sandstone (non splitter) cracks. There are splitter style cracks you can lead in the main big wall area, including some that change angle / size. Sport includes a cave with a ceiling traverse. Workout area is small, and the gym overall can get crowded, but it’s really a great spot. Gear shop is excellent. They’ve got a killer selection of active and passive pro, camping gear, soft goods, and thoughtful odds and ends, plus some local artists’ work and some fun stuff like stickers and printed rope tarps. Staff is friendly and accessible. They’ve got a few auto belays, but expect to wait in line and probably do some laps on a few if that’s all you’re there for. I’ll be back anytime I’m visiting the Tulsa metro area.

Super friendly staff. Very helpful. Not pushy with upsells and memberships. Lots of climbing options. Nice little climbing oriented fitness stations upstairs. Lots of practice options for serious climbers (they have a Moon Wall that goes with an app?). Plenty of challenging and easier routes. We only did the bouldering and the training wall upstairs, but there's plenty to keep you busy for a couple hours if you're new to the sport, not yet comfortable with heights (it comes with time), in a hurry, or just don't feel like strapping on a harness. Overall a great experience. I wish I was in town more so I could get a membership and practice more. If you haven't done it, you can climb better than you think you can. Get out there and try it. Time Magazine once said Rock Climbing may be the best full body workout you can get, and based on the disproportionate amount of Ninja Warrior finishers who are rock climbers; I believe it.
