My wife attended classes for one semester, and we were happy with the school. The admissions office was courteous and helped my wife apply for her grant. They did not use the recommended textbooks often though, and I had purchased them used online - still not inexpensive. I figured par for the course because my wife was receiving her tuition from a government grant. All would have probably gone on this way had we not had a change in circumstances. My work required my wife and I were to move away from Falls Church, and she could no longer attend classes. They threatened us with a $300 fine for not attending classes for a full year. Yes, we had been notified of this policy when she registered for classes, but I told my wife to forget it, and let them come after us in small claims court to get their 300 dollars if they really felt that was justified. Personally, I have let more money than that go uncollected due to the amount of time it takes out of a busy schedule to file and go through a small claims court. However, my wife is not as brave or dumb as me - I do not know if it matters in this case - and she let them bully her into their "online" classes. She did not like the classes. She did not improve her abilities much, probably because the "classes" were just a series of quizzes without instruction. She even called and told the school she did not want to continue after the first "session" of these "classes." However they would not let her stop. They were not about to give up their big payday because of her preference. They were still collecting the government grant - to the tune of about 4,100 dollars - for these BS "online classes." I kid you not; that scheme was a total frickin waste of the governments 's money. We could not do anything about it. The place just forcibly enrolled my wife and collected the taxpayer's money in her name. I think if a place like that wants to be a proper institute of higher education they need to improve their business...
Read moreJust being here for literally 2 weeks the staff is very unhelpful & not friendly only the front desk says hi when walking pass. I would say come here if you are of Asain dissent they seem to help then more or not be intimidated by. You'll be passed off to several different administrators just looking for a simple answer which is super frustrating as new student. Then with the phone number they only have 1 phone # for ALL the departments even different locations, it's the same number so again you just get passed around. For the classes they definitely should have a option where it's beginner v.s intermediate only instead of putting all the students together making class take longer for people who just want the certifications v.s people who want the degree impeding my learning. I hope the rest of these 68 weeks will end up better but to me that's a lot of issues for just starting. It's not all negative because I love the cheif & we made some good food. But we'll see for the rest of...
