A great hospital!
My husband recently had back surgery by Dr. Aguilar to remove a broken piece of a disk. While in there, they found a very large herniation that they did not know was there that they took care of as well. The surgery went great, and the aftercare was amazing!
The doctors and nurses were on the ball from day 1 all the way until we left on the third day. They made sure he had everything he needed at all times, someone was there to help with him moving around and that he was always in a good position for comfort. The rooms are large and have plenty of room to get around. I stayed a few nights and had a pull out couch with bedding for my stay. There is also a recliner that my husband was able to sit up in after a few days passed. The bathrooms are large and easy to get in and around.
I like the system set up to tell where your loved one is within the surgery/recovery, etc…keeps the answers coming at all times without having to ask.
There are refreshment machines on every floor along with a cafe and cafeteria to get larger amounts. Also a gift shop on hand for food, drinks, flowers and gifts.
Two of my favorite places in the hospital were the chapel and the healing garden. When you have a loved one who is going through such a serious procedure, it is nice to have these relaxing places that you can go to pray or just reflect.
The chapel is located on the first floor between the gift shop and the café. It is very quiet and has everything you need to say a prayer or just take a deep breath. The stained glass window of seasons is absolutely amazing and I could’ve sat and looked at it for hours. There are plenty of chairs, a piano and a Bible on hand for your needs.
The healing garden is located, just out front from the main entrance. There are fountains and lots of beautiful flowers blooming. This garden was planted in memory of someone and I’m sure she would be so pleased at how it turned out. It is very serene and definitely worth a walk out to see.
Across from the chapel outside the window, there are a trio of sculptures in honor of military. These are nestled among flowers as well. It goes to show just how much the hospital believes in having calm areas for those who need it and places in memory, or in honor of those lost. We have been to many hospitals in around the area and Uniontown is definitely at the top of our list for being a great hospital.
There are plenty of wheelchairs available in two different sizes. Wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot.
Have made this our go-to hospital when...
Read moreExtremely unprofessional, I had an appointment at the orthopedic office of the Uniontown Hospital for an ongoing back problem. I must preface that all of my visits to the Uniontown Hospital with UPMC and the few visits with WVU was always great service and care. My primary Dr. there is Dr. Pressman, who I think is the best and has taken good care of me in the past. However, I was referred to Dr Bovino for my back issue. My appointment was at 10:45, and I eventually was checked in to an office at approximately 11:15 and I was told Dr. Bovino would be right with me. After waiting for 45 minutes and listening to laughter and chatter in the hallway, I thought it may be a good Idea to inquire why I sat for such a long period of time unattended. As I walked down the hallway of the offices there were several attendants in an office having casual conversation. Not one ask me if I needed assistance, so I proceeded to the next office down the hall. There appeared to be a Dr. sitting at a computer and I had to ask, excuse me, I have been sitting for almost 45 minutes and no one has come in to check on me. He responded by asking who was my Dr.? My response was Dr. Bovino. He then replied Oh, he had to leave for an emergency. I simply ask when was someone going to advise me of that? He responded well these things happen! I said I understand, but I think its unacceptable and someone should have told me, don't you think? He then tells me, WELL IF YOU DON'T THINK THAT IS ACCEPTABLE YOU DON'T HAVE TO COME BACK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO! I demanded my copay refund at the front desk and ask who the Dr. was in the last office. The kind receptionist did not know. As I was waiting to get my refund the Dr. that was very unprofessional and rude made time then, to come out of his office to let the receptionist know to not reschedule me. I later found out the name of the Dr is Dr Andrew Wroblewski, I believe that's how its spelled. Terrible attitude, he was very disrespectful. He couldn't find the time to visit the cubical to update me, but he made time to tell me not to come back! Well they can be certain, I won't be back! I'm sure Doc Pressman will not be happy with his associate Dr Andrew Wroblewski. Again, no disrespect to Doc Pressman, I think he is great, but he will lose clients with this...
Read moreI went to the Uniontown Hospital last evening 6-4-2015 with pains in my chest and shortness of breath, upon arrival the girl at the desk checked me in for NECK PAIN , once my nurse realized it was more than that things happened quite quickly, they hooked me up to a heart monitor, took blood, left the IV port in just in case ( did not have an IV ), the lady came to do the EKG , they took an X ray.........................and we sat , and we sat, and we sat , finally after 1 1/2 hours a Dr came in the room and said the EKG and X ray looked good, he checked my glands,my ears, my throat and said they were waiting on the lab results..that were taken an hour and a half earlier so we sat...and we sat..and we sat I had to go to the bathroom really bad so my husband finally asked one of the ladies to un hook all my stuff so I could use the restroom which she did, while I was in there a young lady came into the room to have me admitted, my husband said no until we talked to the Dr or nurse . So we sat...and we sat they never came in to re hook me up.., my husband asked for our nurse , who never came back into the room while we were ther, or the Dr so we could ask questions.they did not come back in..so feeling fine I un hooked everything and left being pretty sure I could do a follow up with my Dr. The hospital did call our house, but not to ask how I was or to give results of a test but to ask where I put the IV port when I left ? Really ? I will think twice about going back to that Hospital in an emergency again, good news I feel fine don't know what it was, guess I...
