As a former employee at this Weis, I’ve always loved this store. I always stop in for a couple of things a few times a week, and I always go through self-checkout. My boyfriend and I got a good bit of groceries tonight, and we decided to go to a register. Our cashier was named Visitor, and he was horribly unprofessional. I greeted him and asked how he was doing, and he didn’t say a single word. I told him that I would bag (I brought my own bags that he clearly saw), but he proceeded to put stuff in the plastic bags. I asked him if I could use points to get eggs for 99¢, and he acted as if he didn’t understand me; he said, “Your amount went down with your member card.” As I was paying with cash, counting it before he told me my total, he said in a very snarky way, “Cash, I assume?” When my boyfriend was paying for his stuff, he was using his card and Visitor said, “Let me guess, card?” I understand that grocery stores are beginning jobs for minors, but they need to be taught proper customer service. It disappoints me to see that kids couldn’t care less about their job. Half the kids that I see working at this store are bumming around.
Besides that, I saw a lot of expired stuff… The Romane lettuce Hearts were ALL outdated, as well as the Weis 2%...
Read moreIt is unfortunate that the Weis on Bumble Bee Hollow Road has decided the following: Its customer service desk does not open until 10 AM, causing early shoppers to lose out on lottery tickets, change, cigarettes, returns, and all other accomodations we have come to rely upon. UPDATE: THEY NOW OPEN AT 9! Cashiers are being replaced with automated machines, which cause confusion to those of us that need a bit more help. The pharmacy is closed from 1-1:30. I picture the pharmacists and technicians stampeding through the store to eat en masse in the lunch room, linking arms as they scurry back to said pharmacy at precisely 1:29 to resume their duties. An alternative might be to give each one 45 minutes and lunch in split shifts so that customers don't need to wait around to have their needs met.
I am saddened by the loss of quality at my favorite store. UPDATE: Although they changed their customer service hours (back to 9 AM) the powers that be still seem to insist on closing the pharmacy from 1-1:30 and forcing us to scan our own groceries unless we choose to stand in line at one of two...
Read moreKristen from the dairy department went above and beyond helping me today. I was struggling to find a coconut milk based yogurt due to my sensitivity to milk. I recently bought my usual coconut milk based yogurt and discovered it was spoiled. I didn't want to exchange for the same product because I was worried about the same outcome. She not only allowed me to test the same product but after discovering the ones available were also spoiled, she personally showed me over to an organic cashew and coconut milk based yogurt and allowed me to ensure that this product wasn't spoiled. As someone whose been in customer service for 20 years, I highly appreciate the care and time Kristen took to ensure that I left a satisfied customer. Kristen is an absolute gem and she should be recognized for going...
