Before I begin, the moral of this complaint is that customer service/communication is key with any business, and G2 Computers is as communicative as Helen Keller using Morse code to recite the Gettysburg Address (sorry Helen).
My phone was scheduled for a screen repair on a Thursday morning and I was told the repair would be done the same day. When I got to the store, I was told the technician had “just” called out sick, they couldn’t fix the phone that day, and I would need to come back the next day. I completely understand that the technician called out sick, however I was slightly annoyed that I didn’t receive a call from them before my appointment to reschedule.
I brought the phone in the next morning, which was Friday and I was told that the phone would be ready by the afternoon. It was around 4:30 pm and I didn’t receive a call; I was getting concerned since the store closes at 6:00pm, so I gave them a call. I was told they were backed up all day and my phone wouldn’t be ready until Monday! As you can imagine, at this point I was extremely annoyed; what if my phone was imperative to my job!?
I went back to the store to pick up my phone and expressed to the lady who was waiting on me, how annoyed I was and how I intend to contact Apple and share my frustration with this “Apple Authorized Service Provider.” She asked me what had happened and I explained to her the whole situation and all I got was a “sorry, we were very busy today since the technician was out yesterday.” She told me that she didn’t know how I was even able to make the initial appointment because the technician was scheduled to be off that day. On the day of the initial appointment, the gentleman told me the technician had called out sick!
I told the lady that nobody even tried to make things right and that if I didn’t call when I did, I wouldn’t have a phone all weekend. I told her all of this could have been avoided with a few phone calls; a call to let me know the technician wasn’t going to be in before I arrived at the initial appointment and a call to let me know there is a chance that the phone might not be ready until after the weekend before the second...
Read moreThis store seemed really nice and was able to squeeze me in during this busy time since apple stores are not open, but after the service I am just not that happy. My iPhone stopped responding to touch, but the phone was still on and I was getting notifications, I could just not use the screen. I took it here in hopes that they could tell me what had happened. I paid for data recovery too because sadly I did not have anything backed up. Two days after dropping it off I did not receive any information so I called back myself where they told me they had already figured out everything with my phone but just never called me. They told me they could not get the data which I still do not understand why and they had no reason (kinda just seemed like a scam for money), and they also told me my phone could not be fixed. I only paid for them to run a diagnostics test, but they went ahead and opened up my phone to see what had happened. Normally I would not have cared about this, but that was not part of what I paid for. Now that they opened it up the phone does not even turn on so any chances of getting my data back are that much harder. I just do not like that they went ahead and did things before asking me about them, because this is my phone. They also gave me my phone back with loads of dirt and dust stuck in-between the seam where they opened the phone, which is gross. I just do not think they have good communication and will just do whatever they want once they have your phone. They also made me turn off find my iPhone which set me the wrong way because an apple store would never make you do that. There should be no reason find my iPhone should be off if they are just doing work to my phone. It made me feel uneasy about what they were doing with my phone after I left it. Will not be returning and will just be going through apple at this point, even if it...
Read moreIn an effort to support local businesses, and because I remember having an OK experience at this store years ago I brought my macbook in to see if they could diagnose it and let me know how much it would cost to fix. After an $85 up front fee to diagnose and another $100 initial fee for data recovery I was called and told that it was not going to be cost effective to repair my macbook. Ok, its old, I was fine with that, and picked it up the next day. Then was told that the data transfer of my harddrive wasn't finished and wouldn't be done for another day. This was when things began to get more frustrating. I finally picked up the external harddrive that they had transferred my data onto on Saturday and I thought I was done........later that afternoon I received two phone calls from the business and a voicemail saying that they "mistakenly" put someone else's harddrive into my macbook and they didn't notice until they were going through their recycling pile. Good thing my macbook wasn't functioning as WHO KNOWS what could have been on the other person's harddrive....to make things even more infuriating...the owner of the business REFUSED to make this mistake right and would not offer a refund at all....Don't take your macbook here, they may forget to put your harddrive back into it and wait a day to figure it out!
After $400 I am still left with a broken computer, and more aggravation than when I started. I should have just gone to an...
