I don't normally write reviews but I feel couples who are shopping at this location should be aware of our experience. This review is no way in reflection of Jareds as a company rather this location that seems to have a customer service issue as you can see from other low rated reviews. We went in to this location for an engagement ring. During the process we disagreed to the sizing of the ring with the sales consultant due to hand swelling. However after coming to an agreement on the size the sales person still put a different size on the ring which we were not aware of till recently. So when the ring was not a right fit we went down way to small a size. The employee at the counter felt the need to tell us rudely we can't re size the ring constantly to which we said this the first time we are using the service plan. Even though we were sold on a lifetime service plan which we now regret.
When calling in to follow up on the first time the ring was being fitted I called twice, was placed on hold by someone saying they will check in the order and hung up after being transferred. The second time the person who answers phones for this location will do anything not to look up the order including pretending not to understand what you are looking for several times refusing to check on the item at one point saying why don't you just look at your invoice for the pick up date instead of calling. Two conversations with this young women involved her telling me we don't have an order at this location. We only called because we were advised the ring maybe done sooner on both occasions and told to check.
This location manager needs to understand a lack of transparency with customers, being rude and a phone operator who refuses to do anything is losing them business.
We decided to give Jareds another chance and went to a different location. We were treated like royalty. I was surprised by the level of service and will be sending them referrals.

Read moreI am beyond upset, sad, frustrated with Jarreds in Shelby Township. My girlfriend and I went there to get an engagement ring. She found one she liked. We ordered it on January 12th and were told it would arrive Saturday January 18th. Well today, Saturday January 18th I called to see if it was in, they couldn't find it, the lady finally looked it up and she says won't be in until February 18th. Dude... if i knew it was going to take a month and a week to get in I would NOT have ordered it because we are on a tight deadline to get things going as she's pregnant. The lady on the phone says she is going to call someone on Monday and try to see if they can get it rushed but I have really low confidence with them right now. I don't know if the staff is new, or just missed the detail what month the ring was coming in... I just wish I knew it would take so long before I ordered so I could have found and chosen a faster option as we are in a rush. I'm willing to update this review if things get handled and can get the ring in a week, as of now I'm upset and don't like how they are handling it. The lady in the phone I could barley talk to she talked so fast. Update: I called some corporate number and they said they would email me when they contacted the jeweler, which doesn't even make sense to me aren't they the jeweler??
UPDATE: the ring came in on the Thursday 23rd. They were able to get it ahead of schedule. Apatently there was a mixup on telling us the dates, but they were able to get it sooner and made it a top concern of there's so they did right by what they could do. Lesson learned check dates carefully when ordering....

My partner visited Jared's in Utica to get familiar with ring settings and prices. From the moment he entered the store, the sales associates were continuously trying to push him to leave with a product. "Don't worry, if she doesn't like it, you can return it tomorrow!" Fine. Pushy salespeople, so customer service is poor. But what can you expect.
What was NOT acceptable was that they ran a HARD credit on a Jared's credit card that he did NOT give them permission for. After reassuring him they were simply doing a soft check to see what he would qualify for, today, he gets an email saying his credit card is ready. We are LITERALLY in the middle of trying to buy a house and you open a new credit on our line??? It's one thing to treat him as a naïve buyer. It's another to go against his wishes and possibly sabotage our finances.
To make matters even more ridiculous, after he calls them to complain, the associate on the line continues to ask, "So, are you still interested in the rings you were looking at yesterday?"...
