So where to start, I have always been a home town supporter over the big city businesses. That being said WE WILL NEVER BE GOING TO THIS THEATER AGAIN!!! My wife and I who go out about once a month attended this establishment. On this occasion our two daughters were with us. We were met by a not so friendly ticket lady (not the Owner) who gave us the feeling that my family and I were not welcome. Being that my girls are younger I can understand the concern but there were only 8 people attending (let me spell that out...eight) After paying for my three year old to take a nap (Birch Run Cinema would not charge) we walked in to have the gal behind the concession counter (Owners wife) bark at my wife for a sippy cup in her bag for our daughter. I understand that most of their income comes from the sales of both drinks and food. But smile first...say HELLO...BE FRIENDLY! I am also in sales, I sell multiple million dollars worth of product a year. One word for you TACT! You may want to think about using it. Small business is all about sales and trying to get return guests as well as word of mouth referrals. Whats his face (the owner) seemed to be just waiting to have a reason to verbally jump on us and they would not look me in the eye when buying my popcorn. With the high sense of emotion and defensive personality from the owner and his wife gave the impression that this theater is going under (I never have nor ever want a small business to go under including this one) But no wonder with the personality of this team.
Potential ticket sales 4 X 12 Months = $216 Potential Concession Sales 1 x 12 Months = $96 Getting this raving review stuck on the internet forever =...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe theater itself has been restored very nicely, great classic feel. The concessions are okay, popcorn a bit stale but it's acceptable. Seats are rock hard. However like I said, I'm willing to overlook that for the quaint charm. What I'm not willing to overlook is the rudeness on the part of the staff. I don't know if they are the owners or related to the owners, but there are an older lady and gentleman that work there that are possibly the two rudest people I have ever encountered. The way they look and speak to you make it abundantly clear that they wish you were anywhere but standing in front of them. Very dismissive and pompous even during simple ticket/concessions encounters. They must have a connection to management because there's no way they would still be around if it weren't for some form of nepotism. It's unfortunate, because while their other employees are great, it's usually these two I run into and it's made me not want to come back. So in summation: great atmosphere, middling food, hard seats, but still worth it except for the deal breaker of generally terrible service. Very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis theater is a little gem! It's sits in the quaint town of Vasser. The marquee sign out front is just a taste of the original vibe you'll find inside. The decor takes you back in time. The bathroom is always neat & tidy as is the theater it's self. The ticket prices and concessions are both so affordable. The seating is comfy and the decor inside the actual theater is beautiful. Real red curtains parts to view the screen. I always try to visit this theater with out of town guests. It's a great experience! They also support the animal shelters and raise money for them too. Do yourself a favor and visit this...
