Disappointed by Ongoing Inconsistencies I used to enjoy Cottage Inn Pizza, but unfortunately, the experience has become increasingly hit-or-miss — and mostly a miss lately. The biggest issue is the inconsistency. You never know what you're going to get. Sometimes the pizza has a nice thick crust, other times it's paper-thin and overcooked, or doughy and undercooked. Same goes for the sauce — sometimes it tastes like decent pizza sauce, and other times it tastes like straight tomato paste, or there’s barely any sauce at all. Toppings are also all over the place — generous on one visit, barely there the next. The calzones are another gamble. They might look golden on top, but the bottoms are often soggy and underdone, like they were rushed out of the oven too soon. It’s frustrating to pay for something and not even be able to eat half of it. Even the salads, which you'd hope would be a safe bet, are disappointing. For $8, you get a small portion shoved into a Styrofoam burger container, mostly lettuce with a couple toppings thrown on as an afterthought. Definitely not worth the price. At the end of the day, it feels like your experience depends entirely on who's working that day — and that’s not the kind of reliability you want when you're ordering food. Cottage Inn could be great if they worked on consistency and quality control, but right now, it’s just a gamble I’m not willing to...
Read morePlaced an order online that was 50min wait. Went to simply pick it up as it was prepaid. Ended up waiting 40 addition mins with no explanation the whole time. Every time fount of house would ask me my name they would attempt to look get distracted grab the wrong order then forget. They were more concerned drowning the clearly overloaded kitchen with more orders then actually completing the ones they have. I literally gave them my name 8 times which really makes the customer feel they care. No one at the desk seems to understand task management or priorities. Now onto the food. Ingredients are top tier. Problem is for a place that sells itself as gourmet pizza the pies were thrown together haphazardly and in a hurry. The chicken pizza we got had almost no chicken and the ingredients were not consistent. The bread sticks cost to much for what you get. Overall I'm very disappointed. If they cant get there act together soon as the vale of being new wears away they are going to have a real problem. Vassar is a small farming community and word spreads fast. At over 20 bucks for just one pie in this town is a lot. When compared to other local competitors so you better be the best. Otherwise your blacklisted by the community and out of...
Read moreUgh, first let me start by saying I’ve tried so hard to give this place a chance. I felt bad for how much flack they were getting when they first opened. But I think it’s about time they step it up. Out of the handful of times my husband and I have ordered from here, only our first order has been correct and actually tasted good. They have made it “right” before by offering a discount on next purchase or remaking the order, but for all that hassle, why not just do it correctly the first time? I understand it’s just a pizza place but take pride in the food you're making. This was the last straw for me. Pizza with Italian seasoning that looks like they just dumped half the bottle on half of it with barely any on the other side, frozen soggy vegetables in the salad, why would you even deliver that? No one wants veggies that have been frozen on a salad. My dogs won’t even eat them. For the price of their items you’d think they’d care about what they’re serving people. Just sad. Oh and don’t even bother ordering their subs, poorly made, look nothing like the photo, and they’re TINY. I’ll stick with Millington Pizza. Best pizza and salads around, great prices, and they get it...
