I absolutely love this store and I absolutely love Patty! The store reminds me of my abuelita's house so it already feels like home. I can get lost in there for hours since she has an immense amount of cool items! My favorite has always been the jewelry she carries; I love anything with a mexican blanket print, La Virgen de Guadalupe, Dia de los Muertos, roses, anything like that and La Catrina has it all and then some. She carries other artist's items in her store which is awesome because it shows that she supports other local artists and gives them a chance to showcase their creations. Patty has given back to the community; she had sponsored me for the Roadshow Revival Pinup Pageant two years in a row, one year of which I did place 3rd. She promoted me through her social media and I was very proud to have her logo next to my picture since I love her style and what she's all about. It just made sense for the two of us to team up. I try to go in as often as I can and always leave with something. I believe that supporting her and her business I'm also supporting local artists plus I love that my money is going to a small local business of an artist who makes most of her creations along with her mom and daughter. It's a nice little environment and they're always super polite. You'll get along with Patty no matter who you are. Now...
Read moreI’ve driven by this little shop so many times and always thought to myself, “I really need to stop in one day.” Well, now I definitely will. I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about the owner—how she goes above and beyond for her customers, how welcoming she is, and how much love she pours into her business. That alone is reason enough to support her, but with Día de los Muertos coming up, I’ll also be looking for special pieces to add to my altar, and I can’t think of a better place to shop than right here in my own community.
Supporting small businesses is so important. Every time we choose to shop local, we’re not just buying things—we’re helping to keep creativity, tradition, and connection alive in our neighborhoods. Shops like this bring character and heart to our cities in ways big box stores never could.
So, if you’ve been curious like me or if you’re looking for something unique and meaningful, let’s make the time to stop in. I know I’m excited to finally go inside, discover what treasures are waiting, and hopefully come home with a few beautiful finds for my altar. Here’s to celebrating culture, honoring tradition, and uplifting the small businesses that make it all...
Read moreI popped in to La Catrina on a mission. I had seen “the video” and after driving past this cute shop many times, I knew it was time to finally go in and support this small business. The shop itself it packed full of amazing goodies… fun miniatures, clothes, accessories, art and so much more. I wanted to work on creating a respectable ofrenda and spoke to the owner about the essential elements. She kindly guided me and was super friendly about me wanting to create a version. I’ve made them before as I love and admire the tradition of Dia de Los Muertos. I was able to pick up some items to add to my ofrenda this year. Thanks for the help. And I encourage anyone to stop in and at least take a look around this colorful, creative...
