I grew up with gearheads and grease monkeys, and my dad taught auto tech up until the day he died. Needless to say, Iâve spent a lot of time hanging out around auto parts stores across southern Wisconsin for as long as I can remember.
Without a doubt, the Advanced Auto Parts store on Main Street in Verona has been my favorite auto parts store since moving to the area. It has always been clean, well stocked, and the staff has been more than accommodating in either helping me find the correct components Iâm looking for or ordering them from another location if something for either of my vehicles is out of stock.
Regrettably, I have to shave off one star from this review due to ONE specific employee. When I worked retail and managed a staff of 30+/- I would have terminated one of my employees on the spot if I had witnessed him exhibit such an annoyed, disinterested, and downright rude behavior toward ANY customer. Iâve wondered if this guy just has a perpetual chip on his shoulder (but if so, why is he still there?) or if he might have some bias against people with disabilities. Iâm self conscious about my mobility challenges and walking âfunnyâ as it is, but Iâm loathe to even step foot in there if heâs behind the counter. When he is, I try to prepare myself for his inevitable reactionâor lack thereofâthat I am somehow inconveniencing or burdening him. NONE of the other employees there have ever made me feel anything less than appreciated. And in frickinâ Verona! Around the corner at Millers or down the street at Farm & Fleet, retail employees have never expressed such an unfriendly and sour attitude toward me.
The store mgmt/owner is welcome to contact me for more detailed info or examples of the many positive encounters Iâve had with the other employees there, or should a more elaborate description of the rotten one spoiling the bunch be requested. The initials at the top of the receipt from when he last rung...
Read moreI have always enjoyed shopping at this store for all my projects, mainly because of the positive experience with its staff and their cheerful helpfulness. However, I would highly recommend no one going there in the late afternoon because the experience will be completely different and negative if you deal with Kyle as a sales associate. He seems to have a chip on his shoulders, and he is all-around rude while he also expresses absolutely no interest in helping customers get what they need. Even with his rude behavior, he doesnât even respond when you say âthank youâ or âgood nightâ when ending the transaction. It feels like one is more of a burden and a nuisance than as a valued customer. I have started traveling out of my way to the Madison area to Autozone or OâReillyâs just to avoid this sort of experience in the evenings. If you choose to visit this store, I would highly recommend going during the day and not...
Read moreI ALWAYS have an amazing experience here, EVERYONE is helpful especially to me a single mom who doesnât know ANYTHING about cars! Jennifer and her team always come through and offer the most help and advice a girl could ask for! They even offer to help me put on a windshield wiper or pour fluids in the right spot! Thank you guys for the judgement free zone and all the help I could ask for! And Jennifer thanks for making my daughter so happy and entertained while I do what I need to do! Definitely recommend this place!...
