My son is only 7 years old and he is one of The Niche's best customers! He saves up his allowance so he can go shopping, specifically in the basement section. Over the past year he's purchased the following: one piggy bank made from amber glass, one yard stick from 1978, one antique toy made of metal, three thimbles, two little old bells, an old perfume bottle, various sweets, multiple rings and necklaces, and small gifts for his mama 🥰 The owners always show tremendous kindness to their customers, you know that they truly care.

We love visiting wineries and wine bars as we travel around Iowa and beyond. Red Cedar Wines (The Niche Wine Bar) immediately became our favorite because it has everything we look for - a large variety of good-quality Iowa wines, options for snacks and light food (and H2 pizza just down the block), a wonderful service team that makes everyone feel welcomed, and a mix of atmospheres - quiet evenings early in the week with music and fun on the weekends. We have always made it a point to stop at The Niche whenever we were in Vinton, but now it will be a destination for us, the focal point of our trip! I encourage everyone to check out their "new" place. A charming mix of new, old, and repurposed decor items are beautifully displayed throughout the shop. (We have never left without finding something to take home!) The new funky/whimsical/ bar and dining area is very cool. Their bakery items and coffee, I always a staple, continue to be excellent.
