Lotus Restaurant — Restaurant in Vinton

I’d called an order in, parts of the order were repeated back to me. I was asked for my number and gave it. It was repeated back to me. I was told “it’ll be ready” with no time frame. I came 15 minutes later and was told there isn’t an order for me because all I gave was my telephone number. I was yelled at very loudly in front of customers. Against my better judgement, I proceeded to order again. When she brought it out, I very calmly and politely told her that mistakes happen but it’s better to admit them than pass the blame on to customers. She then proceeded to yell at me again. I continued to try to talk to her calmly. Any word I said was responded to with more yelling. As I walked out with my order, she yelled at me saying she didn’t need my business. That won’t be a problem. I’ve always highly recommended this place because the food is amazing. But that was an incredibly unpleasant encounter and for that, I will never recommend it again. There is a sign that says they are short staffed but I don’t feel that is grounds for staff to be rude and unprofessional. If people choose to go here, I hope their experience is...

I really like Chinese food, so I went there based on the great reviews that I found. Boy was this a mistake. First off, they forgot part of the order. By the time I noticed, I was in the hotel for the night.

When I called them they refused to bring the items to me. The girl that answered the phone had a bad attitude and acted like I was lying to her. When she gave the phone to another lady whom I assumed was the owner, she said that I had to come back to the restaurant to pick up what I had ordered because they don't do delivery. Then she raised her voice to me and said "what you want me to do" several times and was very upset that I called her out on their mistake. She kept yelling at me "what you want me to do" and wasn't listening to me at all. Then she hang up on me. So rude.

But the worse part was the food was downright aughful. Everything I ordered tasted like it was made with scorched or rancid oil! So I only ate a few bites and threw out the rest. It was the worst Chinese food...

I'm glad I don't live far from Lotus. It has been my favorite Chinese food restaurant for years. I've been to many other Chinese restaurants and have not been as impressed with the food. Service here is always great as well! Now, they do make a mistake here and there, (mainly on phone orders for takeout) just like all humans and all businesses do. They are good to fix their mistakes immediately, but they have to know about the mistake in order to fix it. Please address the mistake or misunderstanding without being rude. They are great people and don't deserve to be treated in a poor manner.
