Not one of the better Kroger's. However, this is not to disparage the quality of the food/produce found there, or their discount pricing. While the staff is largely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, there is one major issue that management needs to address.
The shopping cart situation in the parking lot is out of hand. Far too many patrons are too lazy to return their carts to the plentiful and conveniently located cart correls. Rather, they push their carts in front of or next to a neighboring vehicle, thereby making their carts someone else's problem.
While this is not the fault of the store, it is their responsibility to see to it that these carts do not impinge on the patrons' choice of parking spaces. It is often near impossible to find a spot that does not have one or more carts encroaching on the space alloted for a vehicle to be safely parked (i.e., without risk of property damage to said vehicle).
The solution: management must stay on top of those employees who have responsibility for the disposition of carts. It's simple. First, clear the carts from vacant spots and from in-between vehicles. Next, take those carts over to the correls and collect them, along with those carts that have been returned there by thoughtful patrons, then, finally, gather all of the carts from all of the correls and get them inside the store. And, by the way, staff should make sure that all of the carts are EMPTY (no sales fliers or other litter remaining). Patrons should not have to pick out the refuse left in carts by previous users.
Also, the store could be cleaner. It's not unusual to find opened packages or half-empty pop cans/cups left on shelves.
I'm hopeful that once the store has relocated to its new digs, that the overall shopping experience can be on par with that found at the Troy (Big Beaver) Kroger, if not at least at the Troy (Dequindre) store. Of course, the same careless louts who today leave their carts hither, thither, and yon (everywhere except in a correl) will remain my cross to silently bear. That is, unless I happen to catch you, with your fat butt, leaving your cart...
Read moreFirst, let me say the store itself is fine. Typical Kroger. My one star review reflects my overall experience with the pharmacy. That said, this is the worst Kroger pharmacy experience I've ever had. Today, I dropped them as my pharmacy with prescriptions in limbo and will be going out to a different competitor to try and get them filled. This pharmacy is always behind, letting prescriptions sit and not filling them for days. One of the pharmacists even told me basically, oh well, they are short staffed, and refused to fill the prescription because it was too close to closing time even though I was standing there, and she admitted she had it in stock. I had to wait until she got around to it (which was 3 the next afternoon!). I also had them just drop a prescription request with no warning because it wasn't close enough to the allowable refill time. When I asked why they didn’t call me and let me know there was an issue with the refillable time period they told me that isn’t their policy ad I have to monitor that and call them to request it (even though I had no idea there was an issue!). Today was the final straw. I had two prescriptions; one was due to be filled five days ago and the other was waiting for a preauthorization from my doctor/insurance company. The first they figured out that there is a manufacturer issue and the second they just dropped instead of calling me and telling me they hadn’t hear from the doctor’s office. When I asked them why in the world they would keep ordering the first one instead of finding out what the actual problem is with the manufacturer (or why they wouldn’t at least communicate to me that there was an issue), well, crickets… When I asked them why they didn’t tell me there was an issue with the preauthorization (or hadn’t heard ack from the doctor’s office), again, no answer. These examples are only from the last two months. I have many more. Stay as far away from this pharmacy as you can. It is a complete mess. Disorganized, understaffed, non-communicative, and...
