My husband and I dined at Masala King on our anniversary last August (2024), expecting a delicious Lebanese meal, as we'd enjoyed in the past. Unfortunately, that's not what happened.
This restaurant has become a disaster. and has drastically changed for the worse since the arrival of the new staff, including an individual of Indian descent. The once-delicious food is now consistently disgusting, wretched, and unpalatable. It creates an untrustworthy, unnerving, disturbing, troubling dining experience. After our horrible experience, we made the decision never to return, and we have kept our word.
I've made homemade Avgolemono soup. What we were served was a strange, green, oily, watered-down, and utterly unpalatable concoction. It was rubbish!
Then, after ordering our entrees, we waited, and the same rude, apathetic, and arrogant man who took our order provided shockingly poor customer service. He silently placed a dish of brownish-red fried something on our table. We had no idea what it was. I waved him over, but he ignored me. I got his attention a second time, and he finally approached. I asked, "What did you bring us?" He mumbled something unintelligible. "What is it?" I repeated. He was reluctant to answer but finally mumbled something about fried onions. Since we donât eat fried food, we didnât eat it.
It wasn't enough that we were served a disgusting, oily, strange green liquid concoction that wasn't soup at all.
We drank our iced teas and waited and waited for our dinner, but I realised we shouldn't be here. This was awful! We are paying customers and donât deserve this. We need to leave immediately. My husband and I asked each other, What on earth did that incompetent server give us? That stuff in the bowls was so disgusting. Did he really think we were foolish enough to eat it?
The same Indian man server saw us leaving and tried to block us near the exit. He became even more annoying with every word he spoke. He whined, "Oh, come on, you guys! Don't leave!" He continued whining, "Your entrees are almost ready! Don't leave!"
We walked away and didn't...
Read moreHorrible experience with staff and food during Ramadan booking. Staff was super unprofessional and lacked basic hospitality. There was a lack of communication when booking for a party of 22 people. The separate buffet set up was very ghetto looking, especially since we paid exactly the same amount as the other party who received the buffet with the actual burners and set up. None of the trays were fitting into the stand. The stands itself were super cheap from party city or dollar store. The sheer weight of the food trays almost caused several of them to tip over. None of the burners were lit until I mentioned something to the staff. I had to ask them to cover up the food because it would have been cold by the time iftar would happen.
As a customer I really shouldnât have to remind the staff or run after them for basic set up.
When any issues were brought up to management they continued to act confused and pretty much shrugged it off saying this is the best we can do. Overall, I get they tried but for a new business you guys need to do better. I still paid my bill in full and tipped generously on top of that but overall I would like to see this business learn from their mistakes and...
