Not a fan, won't be returning.
I went the afternoon before I went on a nine-day vacation. The gel manicure didn't even make it through a week. On the seventh day, when I noticed a bunch of peeling, I sent a message through their website contact form to ask if they can repair the gel, since I'm always told gel should last 2 - 3 weeks.
(For comparison, I went and had a gel pedicure done at a different place on H Street the day before my manicure (I wanted to test out two different places), and the that pedicure is still flawless 5 weeks later.)
I also asked how I could send them pictures to show the damage, and I said it was urgent I get this fixed the day I'm in town after the vacation and heading to a work conference. I never received a response, even a month later. I wanted to give them time to respond before posting a review, but they have not tried to make it right.
Additionally, the woman who did my nails was clearly new to the job or really off her game that day. She made several noticeable dings in the polish that I asked her to fix, and she kept asking if she could just put another layer on to hide it instead of actually fixing what she did -- and also kept insisting I must've touched the side of the curing machine, even though I showed her my polish color wasn't on it. She also used very cold water in the little finger bowl instead of warm water, which at least in my experience is what is usually used, and that wasn't comfortable.
She was very friendly, but for a non-essential service, that's the bare minimum to get me to walk in the door.
Another problem: the salon has HORRIBLE ventilation. I had to ask for a little fan so I could breathe comfortably. The fumes from the polish and the lack of ventilation is terrible for both guests and workers.
I also had to ask them to recharge my card so I could leave a tip, and they seemed confused that I was trying to leave a tip?
Overall, a bad experience I will not repeat. I will go...
