I wanted to share my experience with this facility to help others make an informed decision. While the staff and caregivers were generally kind, there was an issue that I feel should be addressed.
My grandmother had a fall and was sent to the emergency room for evaluation. The ER confirmed that she was medically stable and only required a one-person assist. However, when it came time for her to return to the facility, they refused to admit her back until Monday because they stated they needed to reassess her condition—specifically because of concerns over her needing a two-person assist.
This delay was concerning, especially since the ER had already provided clear documentation indicating that her care needs were not as high as the facility believed. I have the documentation to support that the ER confirmed her condition and readiness to return. The communication between the facility and the ER seemed to cause unnecessary confusion, and the facility’s decision to refuse re-admittance until they reassessed her created additional stress for our family during an already difficult time.
Ultimately, after this incident, we all came to the mutual decision that my grandmother needed a higher level of care, but the process leading up to that decision could have been handled more efficiently. I hope this review serves as feedback to encourage better communication between the facility and healthcare providers, as well as more timely assessments in the future. I would recommend that families ensure clear communication with the facility to avoid any delays in care.
While my experience may not reflect the overall quality of care for every resident, I believe there is room for improvement in how the facility handles medical...
Read moreOur initial encounter with Columbia Ridge was one of comfort and safety…a very welcoming vibe! Bobbi greeted us with her warm smile and made us feel as if we were “home.” My dad still claims, 2 years later, that because Bobbi made him feel so special and heard, that is what drew him in. Once my dad got all settled from out of state, and with the help of every friendly, kind, and caring employee, we knew we had made the right choice. The staff is caring and invested in making sure the residents feel comfortable, welcomed, and valued. Hopefully you will also encounter Shaye, a caretaker that exhibits a deep regard for the residents and a bubbly, positive attitude! There are many more to name, including front desk staff and activities coordinators. So many great activities and family oriented events here! We couldn’t have chosen a better “home away from home” for my dad....
Read moreI have the pleasure of visiting a very dear friend frequently at Columbia Ridge. I find the facility, staff, and management welcoming and engaging. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I particularly enjoy having breakfast or special dinners with my buddy. I couldn't help but notice the last review citing management's reluctance to interview and offer to train an unqualified candidate for a facilities maintenance position. Facilities like this do not have staff to train potential job candidates for building systems maintenance. This is a skill set that needs to be brought by the applicant. Kudos to the young man for job hunting, but perhaps a mechanics job suits his experience. Keep up the great work...
